Who We Are Looking For

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our team on our project. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, testing, and repairing all mechanical and rotating equipment on board. You will play a vital role in ensuring machinery runs safely, reliably, and efficiently during both the project’s yard phase and ongoing offshore operations.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Recognized technical apprenticeship or equivalent mechanical training scheme.
• Level 3 VQ in Mechanical Maintenance. 
• Valid ECITB certifications: MJI10 (hand torquing), MJI18 (hydraulic tensioning), and MJI19 (hydraulic torquing).  City & Guilds qualification in Process Plant & Equipment Isolations. 
• Valid BOSIET, Medical, and MIST training for offshore work. 
• Practical experience maintaining equipment such as gas turbines, centrifugal gas compressors, diesel generators, boilers, and general process plant machinery. 
• Experience in upstream/downstream operations & maintenance (FPU, FPSO, VLCC, or LNG experience preferred). 
• Ability to interpret and markup technical engineering drawings.

• Systematic, analytical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting equipment breakdowns. 
• Collaborative team player committed to a “one team” approach with colleagues and third-party contractors. 
• Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) standards and Permit-to-Work (PTW) rules. 
• Willingness to support and assist other discipline teams when required. 
• Rigger, Banksman, and Slinger certifications (preferred).

Key Responsibilities

• Reports to Maintenance Superintendent
• Lead the day-to-day planning and execution of mechanical maintenance activities during the yard phase. 
• Conduct system walk-downs, pre-checks, and safety reviews prior to plant start-up. 
• Ensure all lifting equipment is properly evaluated and certified, maintaining the site lifting register. 
• Take ownership of special package tools and oversee equipment preservation activities to ensure readiness. 
• Participate in task-based risk assessments (TRAs), HAZANs, and safety meetings. 
• Carry out routine planned maintenance and condition monitoring on mechanical and rotating machinery. 
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults, defects, and emergency breakdowns. 
• Perform general maintenance, including valve overhauls, repairs, and recertification. 
• Ensure spare parts availability, requisitioning necessary items and managing stock efficiently. 
• Supervise and assist visiting specialized vendor technicians, ensuring their work meets safety and quality standards. 
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, repair reports, and system records in the maintenance database. 
• Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team (and Helideck or Rigging/Slinging crew, if required).
