Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Internal Control Officer to join our fintech company based in Turkey. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of robust internal control processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safeguard company assets, and mitigate risks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of 5 to 7 years in internal control roles within the financial services sector, preferably in fintech.

Responsibilities:

·        Develop and implement internal control policies, procedures, and frameworks in accordance with Turkish regulatory standards, industry best practices, and company policies.

·        Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of weakness or vulnerability in financial processes, systems, and operations.

·        Design and execute comprehensive internal control testing programs to evaluate the effectiveness of existing controls and identify opportunities for improvement.

·        Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the efficiency and effectiveness of internal control measures and identify emerging risks or trends.

·        Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, compliance, risk management, and technology, to address control deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and drive process improvements.

·        Provide guidance and training to staff members on internal control policies, procedures, and compliance requirements to promote a culture of accountability and risk awareness.

·        Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging risks in the fintech sector to ensure that internal control practices remain current and effective.

·        Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for senior management and regulatory authorities summarizing internal control findings, recommendations, and remediation plans.

Skills Required

·        Strong understanding of Turkish regulatory requirements related to financial services, including banking, payments, and electronic money regulations.

·        Demonstrated knowledge of internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO, COBIT) and auditing standards (e.g., IIA standards).

·        Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and assess complex risks and control issues.

·        Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization.

·        Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with internal control management software or tools is a plus.

·        Fluency in Turkish and English languages, both written and verbal.

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, Master's) or professional certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA, CFE) are preferred.

·        2 to 5 years of progressive experience in internal control, audit, risk management, or compliance roles within the financial services industry, with specific experience in fintech preferred.
