Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Risk Management Officer to join our fintech company based in Turkey. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and monitoring of comprehensive risk management strategies and frameworks to identify, assess, and mitigate risks across various business functions and operations. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of 2 to 5 years in risk management roles within the financial services sector, preferably in fintech.

Key Responsibilities

·        Plan, design, and implement an overall risk management strategy, framework and standard operating procedures, with approval authorities.

·        Manage and review performance to ensure compliance with the risk management guidelines and, particularly, local, and relevant regulatory and legislative requirements.

·        Remain informed on regulatory, legislative, and best practice changes and the company obligations under these changes, and how they impact the company, with Board reporting.

·        Ensure the Board, management and employees are in full compliance with all relevant rules and regulations.

·        Develop, implement, monitor, and maintain Standards of Conduct across the company departments.

·        Prepare risk evaluation, which involves comparing estimated risks with criteria established by the organization such as cost and legal requirements, and evaluating the organization’s risk appetite;

·        Construct flexible risk reporting mechanism for different entities, catering to the various internal stakeholders;

·        Conduct audits of policy and compliance to standards, including liaison with internal and external auditors;

·        Provide support, education and training to staff to build risk awareness within the organization; and

·        Develop, lead and motivate the risk and compliance team to maximize effectiveness.

Skills Required

·        Risk management and risk analysis of various risk disciplines, including credit risk, market risk, operational risk and compliance;

·        Understanding regulatory environments;

·        Understanding and working knowledge of international KYC, AML, CTF standards on combating money laundering and the financing of terrorism and proliferation (e.g. FATF FATF;

·        Problem-solving and decision-making abilities;

·        Analytical skills and a good eye for detail;

·        Planning and organizational skills;

·        Negotiation skills;

·        Commercial awareness;

·        Strong communication and presentation skills; and

·        Ability to understand broad business issues.

·        Turkish and English language

Qualifications

·        Master’s degree in business, or equivalent, from a reputable University;

·        ICA International Diploma in Governance, Risk & Compliance or an equivalent in the international compliance field; and

·        2 to 5 years’ experience in a risk management role, preferably from a microfinance, banking, fintech or financial institution.
