Project Generation Manager

We are looking for ”Project Generation Manager" for our Ankara Head Office, to work in the TUPRAG Exploration Team.

The position of Project Generation Manager to lead the growth of the Company’s exploration portfolio within Turkiye. The position is based in Tuprag’s Ankara Head Office and reports directly to the “Exploration Group Manager” and indirectly to the “Project Generation & Greenfield Strategy Director (Canada)” but maintains working relationships closely with the entire Turkiye Exploration Team as well as Exploration and Corporate Development Teams in the Corporate Office.

Your Responsibilities:

        1.      Strategy and Planning

• In conjunction with exploration management teams in Turkiye and the Corporate office, developing and implementing a project generation strategy for Turkiye consistent with corporate and regional objectives.
• Formulating and implementing multi-year project generation programs that are consistent with strategy and objectives.
• Developing target profiles consistent with the Company’s project generation strategy and growth objectives, including thresholds for target size and grade based on mineralization style and conceptual-level economic and mining considerations.
• Assisting the Turkiye Exploration Group Manager in developing budget and staff plans for project generation office and field programs, including desired outcomes and timelines for expenditures and products.

         2.      Targeting

• Applying new exploration concepts and advances in metallogenic processes to terrain-scale analysis and targeting.
• Integrating multi-faceted terrain-scale datasets and build GIS-based targeting frameworks.
• Performing reconnaissance fieldwork to field-test results of targeting studies and assess the potential of new districts and prospects.
• Identifying opportunities outside of the Company’s current tenement package and providing recommendations for new additions to the project portfolio.
• Monitoring activities of competing exploration and mining companies within the region and summarizing any significant activities in weekly reporting.
• Collaborating with Corporate Development Team on the Company’s mergers and acquisitions (M&A) interests in Turkiye and providing recommendations on potential exploration-stage M&A targets.

          3.      Personnel and Program Management

• Collaborating with exploration teams to determine and arrange technical details including field sample collection protocols and laboratory analysis methods,
• Ensuring application of best exploration practices and QA/QC protocols in fieldwork and sampling programs.
• Monitor exploration programs and budgets and adapting program objectives and fieldwork to reflect changes in understanding from ongoing work or Company strategic objectives.
• Integrating validated exploration program results with the Company’s GIS and data management platforms.
• Providing direct mentoring and assisting in the geological development of the Exploration Team..
• Providing development opportunities for the Company’s geologists through the formulation and presentation of in-house geological training courses..
• Ensuring exploration work is carried out in a safe manner by promoting best-practice in H&S targeting zero Lost Time Injuries or Medical Treatment Cases during a year and maintaining a downwards trend of first-aid cases.

        4.       Reporting

• Ensuring that a field visit, and weekly reporting systems are maintained and kept up to date for all field and office works related to project generation
• Prepare technical presentations and present project generative exploration progress and technical updates at monthly/yearly meetings.

Your Background:

• B.Sc. (preferably M.Sc.) in Geology, Applied Geology, Mineral Exploration or similar.
• Minimum 10 years in gold exploration including at least 5 years project generation experience.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with an international exploration company either in Turkey or abroad.
• Understanding of mineralization processes and their application to exploration in gold-dominant mineral systems including porphyry, epithermal, orogenic, VMS, intrusion related, sediment hosted and carbonate-replacement styles.
• Solid understanding Turkiye’s regional geology and metallogeny.
• Broad experience of all common aspects of exploration fieldwork including mapping, sampling, and core logging.
• Ability and willingness to devote a significant portion of the position’s responsibilities to field-based work.
• Good working knowledge of GIS in exploration and 3D exploration software packages.
• Mentoring skills and an aptitude and willingness to transfer knowledge to other team members.
• Excellent written & verbal English skills.
• Enthusiasm, determination, and persistence in getting a job done to a high standard.
• Natural curiosity, flexibility, and initiative.
• A current driving licenses.
