JOB SUMMARY

Based in Istanbul and reporting to the Manager - Claims, the incumbent is responsible for handling TIR irregularities and claims in various TIR operational countries in line with the TIR Convention, applicable national legislations, and IRU rules and procedures.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Claims handling

• Ensure early detection of potential irregularities, particularly suspected fraud cases, and take efficient measures to safeguard the interests of the TIR guarantee chain.

• Properly manage irregularity and claims cases in assigned countries, ensuring full

compliance with internal claims procedures and timely progression toward resolution.

• Collaborate closely with member associations and insurers, providing accurate and timely assistance.

• Follow up systematically with associations, competent authorities and TIR holders on actions necessary for resolving TIR irregularities and claims.

• Provide timely updates to the Manager regarding claims developments, emerging issues, country-specific trends, and propose practical solutions.

• Prepare reimbursement requests related to TIR claims payments for insurers in line with internal procedures and established schedules.

• Maintain and regularly update physical and electronic (TIRside) case files.

Special Tasks

• Update tracking tables with information received on serial cases in assigned countries.

• When needed, perform written and/or oral translations between Turkish, English and/or Russian.

• Carry out additional tasks and ad hoc projects as required by business needs.

• Support the General Delegate in TIR promotion activities, when required.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in law, International Trade, Logistics, Business Administration or a

related field.

• Minimum of 5-8 years of relevant professional experience (adjust as appropriate).

• Proven experience in claims management and logistics

• Understanding of customs, duties, and taxes

• Strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills

• Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English, Russian and Turkish

• Effective presentation skills

• Strong documentation and reporting discipline

• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort working with case management or database systems.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.

• Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently.
