About USENS
USENS Energy Solutions is an independent technical advisory firm working across wind, solar, hybrid and battery storage projects. From our offices in İzmir and Frankfurt, we act as lender's technical advisor and owner's engineer on bankability studies, technical due diligence and project development for banks, developers, investors and utilities across Europe. Our work is part of what allows a project to reach financial close.
The role
You will join the team that finds and wins that work. Day to day, that means researching who is building what and who is financing it, tracking tenders, preparing the material that goes into proposals, and keeping our pipeline accurate and current.
This role suits someone one to three years into a business development career who has already worked around financing institutions — banks, development finance institutions, funds — and wants to apply that in renewable energy. Engineering, business, economics and international relations backgrounds all work. What matters is that you are comfortable in commercial conversations and willing to learn what a P50 energy-yield estimate or a lender's technical due diligence actually involves.
What you will do
Market research and pipeline
• Map developers, independent power producers (IPPs), banks, funds, utilities and technology providers active in Turkish and European renewables, and identify where USENS can help.
• Monitor national and international tender platforms (EKAP, EBRD, IFC and EU funding portals) and flag relevant consultancy opportunities.
• Research potential partners and generate qualified leads.
Proposals and client support
• Support client outreach, introductory correspondence, meeting scheduling and commercial follow-up.
• Help assemble proposals: CVs, project references, scope tables and pricing inputs.
• Track proposal deadlines, client responses and contract steps through to signature.
CRM and reporting
• Keep the CRM accurate — clients, contacts, meetings, opportunities and next actions.
• Produce monthly and quarterly pipeline reports for the management team.
Marketing and events
• Coordinate our presence at conferences, exhibitions and webinars (TÜREK, WindEurope and similar).
• Draft LinkedIn posts, project references and website updates, and report on engagement against baseline.
• Produce online content — images, short video and graphics — using AI tools, for LinkedIn, the website and exhibition stands.
What we are looking for
Essential
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, energy, business, economics, international relations, sustainability or a related field.
• One to three years of business development experience, including at least one year working with or selling to financing institutions — banks, development finance institutions or funds.
• Fluent Turkish and strong professional English — you will write client-facing emails in both.
• Solid Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
• Daily, fluent use of AI tools — including generating images and short video for LinkedIn, the website and event stands — applied responsibly and in line with client confidentiality and data-protection requirements. We will test this during the process.
• Clear, structured writing — the note you send with your application serves as your writing sample.
• Real interest in renewable energy and willingness to learn technical vocabulary across wind, solar, hybrid and storage.
• Able to travel occasionally, including to our İzmir and Frankfurt offices and to industry events across Europe.
Nice to have
• German or another European language.
• Exposure to CRM tools, tender platforms or project finance concepts.
• Experience with EBRD, World Bank, IFC or EU-funded tender processes.
Few candidates tick every box. If you meet most of the essentials, we would rather see your application than not.
What we offer
• Salary is discussed with candidates who progress past the initial review, and reflects experience.
• Annual training budget of [amount], plus attendance at industry conferences.
• Direct exposure to senior advisors, lenders, developers and investors from your first month.
• Fully hybrid working — no fixed office days, with occasional visits to our İzmir and Frankfurt offices.
• [Other benefits — private health insurance, meal allowance, transport, etc.]
Typical progression to Business Development Specialist is considered after approximately [24] months, subject to demonstrated competencies, performance and business needs.
How success is measured
You report to the Chief Growth Officer, and your work feeds their targets for new client acquisition, consortium tender bids, partnership development and entry into new European markets. The milestones below reflect that. You will be assessed on the quality and reliability of your own work, not on outcomes that depend on pricing, delivery capacity or client budget cycles.
• Month 3 — CRM current and reliable; independently tracking every live tender relevant to USENS, including EBRD, World Bank and IFC opportunities.
• Month 6 — sourcing well-researched, qualified leads in priority European markets; drafting proposal and consortium-bid sections that need only light review; producing content on a regular cycle and meeting every proposal deadline.
• Month 12 — owning outreach for a defined market segment end to end; maintaining the partner research pipeline that feeds our partnership development; reporting engagement growth against a stated baseline.
How to apply
Send your CV and a short note (maximum 250 words) on why renewable energy advisory interests you to careers@u-sens.com, with the subject line “BD Associate — [your name]”. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until 30 September 2026.
Our process is a short screening call, an interview with the hiring manager, and a final conversation with the team — normally completed within four weeks.
USENS Energy Solutions is an equal opportunity employer and assesses every application on merit. Personal data you submit is processed under KVKK and GDPR for recruitment purposes only and is deleted after [12] months.
