British Consulate General Istanbul is seeking a Security Guard to join their Security Team on permanent basis. Duties will include access control and searching of visitors. We expect our security guards to set an example in respecting BCG Istanbul’s internal procedures as well as the law and display a pleasant and professional demeanour at all times. This role will include shift and weekend working. 
Skills and Attributes Required

Hold a High School Diploma

Have a good command of spoken English and reasonable command of written English

Have previous security experience

Be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Be able to work under pressure and complete tasks to an agreed standard
 
Applicants should hold a valid Security Certificate 5188.  However any applicant with suitable security experience will be considered.

5. Communicating
Effectiveness in this area is about communicating well and with enthusiasm. It’s about being mutually fair and respectful, using appropriate language and actions and contributing to team discussions
 
6. Managing a Quality Service
Effectiveness in this area is about trying to improve the quality of service, taking account of customer needs and requirements in your work area. People who are effective organise their time and activities to deliver a high quality and efficient service.
 
7. Building Capability for All
Effectiveness in this area is about having a focus on learning for oneself. For S band staff, it’s about being open to learning; developing skills, experience and knowledge by learning from mistakes and wanting to improve performance. Most S band staff would find this competence relevant as all jobs can be improved by learning.
