Based in Ankara, this role involves supporting British businesses in entering the Turkish market in education/skills and healthcare sectors. The officer will support the team leader in setting the trade strategy, delivering market research projects for UK companies and identifying business opportunities.
 
The successful applicant will need to be a team player, have excellent organisational skills and be an effective communicator. The successful candidate will also need to demonstrate determination, self-motivation and a pro-active approach to supporting UK commercial interests in Turkey.
 
The position is available immediately and includes an initial probationary period of 2 months.
 Skills and Attributes Required 
Be fluent in both English and Turkish (written and oral) and have at least Degree level education. 
Demonstrate relevant and appropriate (written and oral) experience and qualifications in trade and investment related areas.
Demonstrate a proven record of engaging and building relationships with customers, stakeholders and partners and an understanding of business drivers and the commercial environment.
Have the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and undertake outward facing representational work.
Demonstrate a proven ability to manage a variety of projects and deliver on time, to quality and within budget
Have the skills necessary to work effectively with other team members and teams, building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders and clients.

The British Embassy in Ankara is seeking a Project Co-ordinator to manage the Foreign and Commonwealth Office’s Prosperity Programme Fund. The position is available immediately until at least 31 March 2015, with the possibility of extension.
 Skills and Attributes Required
Previous experience in project development and management in NGOs, international organisations, public or private agencies.
Ability to supervise NGOs, international organisations, public and other stakeholders in implementing projects.
Ability to build relationships with government institutions and other key stakeholders.
Is able to use own-initiative to develop new project ideas and find solutions to problems.
Strong English and Turkish communication skills, both written and oral. Good presentation, reporting and narrative skills.
Experience of using Microsoft Office Applications.
Ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines, without compromising the quality of work or customer care.
Adaptable and open to change.
Strong team-player.
Financial experience and knowledge of spreadsheets and basic accounting would be an advantage.
Good understanding of economic, climate change, energy security and / or commercial issues.

British Consulate General Istanbul is seeking a Security Guard to join their Security Team on permanent basis. Duties will include access control and searching of visitors. We expect our security guards to set an example in respecting BCG Istanbul’s internal procedures as well as the law and display a pleasant and professional demeanour at all times. This role will include shift and weekend working. 
Skills and Attributes Required

Hold a High School Diploma

Have a good command of spoken English and reasonable command of written English

Have previous security experience

Be able to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions

Be able to work under pressure and complete tasks to an agreed standard
 
Applicants should hold a valid Security Certificate 5188.  However any applicant with suitable security experience will be considered.
