System Support Engineer

Teknotel/Telehouse Istanbul Datacenter in Kozyatağı, İstanbul is looking for a Linux, Windows Administrator / VMware Engineer. The System Support Engineer will be responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
 
This individual participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure.

İŞ TANIMI

MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering
• Should have completed the Military Service
• 4 years’ experience on Administration, installation and upgrades of

      a. Windows 2003, 2008, and 2012 servers both physical and virtual environment
          Active Directory, DNS, MSSQL Server, ASP, ASP.Net, IIS, FTP, Mail
      b. FreeBSD, Linux Redhat
          Apache, Tomcat, bind, PHP, MySQL, Cron, Batch, Ftp, Mail

• 2 years’ experience on VMware vSphere version 5.0-6.0 
• Experienced using enterprise storage solutions (SAN/NAS) with VMware vSphere
• One of the following certifications:  MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, or VCP.
• Hands on working experience in implementation and maintaining infrastructure of an Enterprise Data Center of over 2000 servers.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Good communication skills to include documentation of IT procedures.
• Able to interact effectively within a team environment.
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures; contribute to and maintain system standards, policies, and procedures
• Maintains system performance by performing system monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting system hardware, software, and operating system issues
• Ensure correct installation, configuration, use, and maintenance of our windows server infrastructure
• Working experience with vSphere systems administration and support including VMotion, HA, DRS, VDS, Affinity rules, VCenter, storage migrations, and V2V migrations
• Experience with vSphere problem determination, capacity planning and root cause analysis.
• Working experience with vSphere Thin Provisioning, Resource Pools, Host Profiles, and 3rd party plug-ins
• Working experience with vSphere Standard and Distributed Switches
• Create reports required by the client
• Install new/rebuild existing servers and configuration hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standard and project/operational requirements.
• Research and recommend automated approaches for system administration tasks where possible.
• Create and Maintain SOP’s and train junior staff as necessary
• Provide 24X7 support as needed
• Self-starter; able to manage multiple tasks efficiently for on-time delivery
• Self-motivated; proactive; a team player; well spoken
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills and experience communicating with technical and non-technical audiences
• Exceed expected quality of service on maintenance & deployment of upgrades, enhancements and modifications to systems
• Work ticket queues and document resolutions completely and accurately
• Provide daily administration of workstations and servers in a fully virtualized environment.
• Follow best practices to adhere to enterprise architecture.
• Understanding of server architectures, hardware, RAID.
• Knowledge of HA computing and networking. (eg. Microsoft Clustering, load balancing, TCP/IP, DNS)
• Understanding of application & OS security, including virus scan management and patching
• Able to analyze alerts from various monitoring tools and take appropriate actions during troubleshooting

 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Working knowledge of recent versions of HP Blade Server technology with supporting administrative software
• Working knowledge of Linux Platform
• Working knowledge of Plesk Platform
• Working knowledge and experience with Veeam
• Understand the workings of EMC DataDomain and NetApp
