QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

PROGRAM DIRECTOR

IPCEU is currently looking for a dynamic and experienced Program Director to spearhead the strategic development and execution of TED's educational initiatives.

Responsibilities

•    Strategic Leadership: Craft and execute a comprehensive multi-year strategy for TED's project initiatives that aligns with the organization's long-term objectives. This includes setting clear goals, defining success metrics, and establishing a roadmap for sustainable project development.
•    Program Oversight: Monitor the overall project lifecycle across TED’s portfolio, ensuring each project adheres to the agreed-upon framework of timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Implement a robust project tracking system to anticipate and address delays or budget overruns.
•    Cross-Departmental Integration: Act as the nexus point for project efforts across different departments within TED, including the Think Tank Organization, educational institutions, and external partners. Ensure synergy and alignment between project activities and the broader educational objectives of TED.
•    Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and maintain a stakeholder management plan to engage with key partners, funders, educational leaders, and government entities. Facilitate regular stakeholder meetings to gather input, manage expectations, and communicate progress.
•    Reporting and Communication: Deliver comprehensive reports to senior management and the advisory board detailing program progress, challenges, and risk assessments. Utilize data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and to provide transparent updates to all relevant parties.
•    Resource Management: Allocate human, financial, and technological resources across projects to maximize efficiency and impact. Evaluate resource utilization and adjust project plans as necessary to optimize performance.
•    Team Leadership and Development: Build, mentor, and lead a team of project managers and associated staff, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous learning, and accountability within the team. Implement professional development plans to ensure the team is skilled in the latest project management methodologies and educational trends.
•    Quality Assurance: Ensure that all project initiatives meet internal standards and external compliance requirements. Regularly review project outcomes against benchmarks to guarantee that deliverables achieve the desired impact on educational practices and policy.

Qualifications


•    Experience: A minimum of 7 years of senior-level experience in program management, specifically within the education sector or related fields.
•    Educational Background: A Master's degree in Education, Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field is preferred.
•    Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team, with a track record of strategic program development and successful project delivery.
•    Communication Proficiency: Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with proficiency in English. Ability to communicate complex concepts to a diverse range of stakeholders.
•    Technical Expertise: Proficient in the use of project management software (such as MS Project, Asana, Trello) and methodologies (like Agile, Waterfall, PRINCE2). Comfortable with data analysis and reporting tools.
•    Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing circumstances, manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, and work within a dynamic educational landscape.
•    Cultural Competence: Sensitivity and understanding of diverse educational environments and the ability to navigate cultural dynamics effectively.

•    Language Skills: Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in additional languages being a significant asset.
•    Travel: Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required to meet project needs and engage with partners.
