We are looking for  a Sociologist  for our client which is a reputable International NGO.

• University degree from a 4 year psychology,sociology department or equivalent. . Knowledge and awareness on gender equality, communication and counselling are asset.
• At least 2 years of professional experience at national level.
• Fluency in Turkish . Command of Arabic is preferable.
• Good at Microsoft Office, Windows-based programs.
• Ability to use communication and counselling skills effectively. High level social and verbal skills. Ability to make logical connections, express thoughts verbally and in writing, understand others' feelings. Good communication skills include consistent, patient and tolerant behaviour and avoiding discrimination. Ability to work in a team and collaborate.
• Citizens of the Republic of Turkey or persons with a temporary or international protection status or residence permit in Turkey.

İŞ TANIMI

• Works in full cooperation with the other personnel at the center / in the mobile team.
• Examines normal or abnormal behaviours and psychological processes of clients such as thinking, learning, emotions and agitation.
• Provides counselling to clients.
• Assesses psychological needs and issues in general. Seeks solutions.
• Works on improving the vocational adjustment and interpersonal communication skills of clients.
• Uses observation and interviewing techniques when working with the target group.
• If trained to do so, implements and interprets tools such as IQ, personality, development and neuropsychological tests and attention, attitude and adjustment assessments.
• Provides individual or group psychological assistance to individuals or families and/or recommends psychotherapy in his/her area(s) of training.
• Keeps records of own clients.
• Organizes and facilitates awareness raising sessions for clients.
• Provides necessary assistance to the medical staff when the client is assessed clinically for sexual and gender-based violence and offers counselling and psychosocial support to clients as necessary.
• Identifies cases at risk or cases with complications, assists in referral to a clinical psychologist or secondary or tertiary health facility, monitors the result of the case or informs the coordinator about the case.
• Conducts meetings with clients to assess the relevance and adequacy of services.
• Provides support in data collection.
• Attends coordination meetings when necessary.
• Conducts local project events (e.g. meetings, workshops, trainings) and, trainings in the project provinces.
