EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Arvento Mobile Systems, the leading fleet telematics and M2M solutions company, is extending its Hardware R&D Team and looking for talented Embedded Software Engineers who are willing to work on embedded systems development.

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering or any related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development
• Strong proficiency in C++, with fair knowledge of the language specification
• Good understanding of memory management in non-garbage collected environments
• Understanding of dynamic polymorphism and C++ specific notions, such as friend classes
• Implementation of automated testing platforms and unit tests
• Knowledge of low-level threading primitives and real-time environments like freeRTOS
• Knowledge of component data sheets and specifications
• Familiarity with templating in C++
• Familiarity with embedded systems design, low-level hardware interactions such as UART, I2C, SPI, CAN
• Familiarity with Linux or Unix based operating systems
• Hands-on experience in developing BSP, driver and applications for Embedded Linux is a plus
• Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines, follow development standards and to work independently
• A good command of written and spoken English
• Male candidates should have no military obligations

The position offers an engineer the opportunity to make major contributions to Arvento’s new generation products by working with Hardware Design Engineers and Software Engineers for new technology development with the following responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable C++ code
• Identify bottlenecks and bugs, and advise solutions to these problems
• Help to maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
