We are looking for an experienced, strategic, and results-driven Purchasing Manager to join our Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) production facility located in Dilovası. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in purchasing and procurement within the chemicals or EPS manufacturing industry, and will be responsible for managing end-to-end purchasing activities, optimizing costs, and developing a sustainable supplier base.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement & Purchasing Management
- Ensure timely procurement of raw materials, chemicals, auxiliary materials, and equipment required for EPS production
- Develop and implement short- and long-term purchasing strategies aligned with production and business needs
- Conduct local and global supplier sourcing and build a strong, diversified supplier portfolio
- Manage RFQ / RFP processes and evaluate supplier offers from both technical and commercial perspectives
- Prepare, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts
Negotiation & Cost Management
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery conditions, and commercial agreements
- Monitor raw material markets and price trends, initiating cost optimization and cost-saving actions
- Prepare monthly price variance reports with market analysis and present them to senior management
- Drive sustainable cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or supply security
Supplier Performance & Process Improvement
- Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, cost, and service level agreements (SLAs)
- Reduce dependency on single-source suppliers by developing alternative sourcing strategies
- Initiate corrective actions and supplier development programs where required
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements
Planning, Inventory & Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with production, warehouse, quality, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted material flow
- Align purchasing plans with demand forecasts and production schedules
- Optimize inventory levels to minimize excess stock and stock-out risks
Team Leadership & Reporting
- Lead and develop the purchasing team through coaching, performance management, and capability building
- Manage purchasing operations and reporting through SAP
- Prepare KPI-based purchasing and cost performance reports for senior management
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 8–10 years of experience in purchasing and procurement, preferably within chemicals or EPS manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of global sourcing, international trade, logistics and customs operations
- Proven negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- SAP proficiency is preferred.
- Solid understanding of cost control and financial analysis tools used in procurement, advanced analytical and reporting capabilities
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience
- Advanced level of English, both written and spoken
