Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Purchasing, Procurement, and Logistic Specialist located in Istanbul. The role involves managing purchasing processes, creating and tracking purchase orders, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and services. Additional responsibilities include analyzing supply chain data, developing procurement strategies to improve efficiency and cost-effectiveness, and maintaining strong supplier relationships.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related discipline
- Minimum 3 years of experience in Purchasing, Procurement, and/or Logistics functions, ideally within theautomotive industry
- Fluent in English (written and spoken) – mandatory
- Solid understanding of end-to-end purchasing and procurement processes, including supplier sourcing, negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization
- Proven experience in customs, import, and international trade operations, including import procedures, customs documentation, and coordination with customs brokers
- Hands-on experience working with international suppliers and managing cross-border shipments
- Strong knowledge of automotive quality standards (e.g. IATF 16949) and supplier quality requirements
- Experience with supplier audits, performance evaluations, and corrective action follow-up
- Good understanding of inventory management, production support, and material planning in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in logistics and transportation operations, including freight forwarding, shipment tracking, and shipping documentation
- Proficiency in ERP systems and strong command of MS Excel for reporting and data analysis
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Open to continuous improvement and capable of working independently while being a strong team player
Job Descriptions:
Purchasing:
- Provide negotiation where applicable
- Ensures technical details and payment terms are clear.
- Negotiates long-term supplier agreements and enforces quality requirements.
- Identifying suitable suppliers and obtaining price quotations
- Carrying out improvement activities in supplier working conditions in line with company interests
- Conducting research on new raw materials and procuring samples in line with requests from the Engineering
- Performing supplier audits within the scope of IATF 16949 and evaluate supplier’s performance
- Maintains and updates the list of approved suppliers and manages supplier records
- Preparing and keeping procedures related to processes up to date
- Executes the total purchasing cycle, including three-way matching of invoices.
- Managing the invoice approval process and delivering invoices to the Finance department on time, as well as following up on missing invoices
- Conducting business development research and activities related to the department as envisioned by management
- Prepares daily, weekly, or monthly purchasing reports
Procurement:
- Maintain required inventory of raw materials for planning
- Create and place purchase orders into the ERP system accurately and on time
- Monitor purchases through production, shipping and delivery processes and expedites orders
- Oversees warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods.
- Regularly review order, inventory and shipping to ensure data accuracy and maintain up-to-date information
- Assist with daily production planning activities
- To provide support to the sales, engineering, production, shipment, warehouse, accounting, finance, and quality departments on relevant issues.
- Work with suppliers and the Quality team to resolve supply and non-conformance issues
- Manages reverse logistics, such as returns and repairs.
- Constantly look for ways to reduce cost
- Prepares daily, weekly, or monthly procurement reports
Logistics & Transportation:
- Create shipment paperwork for international shipments
- Obtain quotes and arrange shipments with freight forwarders
- Monitor shipments until delivery
- Coordinates with shipping companies, freight carriers, and warehouse teams to ensure on-time delivery.
- Plans and optimizes transport routes to minimize costs and delays.
- Manages shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and proof of delivery.
- Ensures compliance with transportation, import/export, and dangerous goods regulations.
- Review freight invoices
- Handles, tracks, and resolves issues with damaged shipments or late deliveries.
- Create Logistics specifications for Series suppliers
- Prepares daily, weekly, or monthly logistics and on-time delivery (OTD) reports.
