Your role
The Process Engineer will be responsible for supporting, optimizing, and improving manufacturing processes within our Lens Technology Center Ankara. This role contributes to operational excellence by driving process stability, quality performance, efficiency, and compliance with regulatory and safety standards. The position will work cross-functionally with operations and engineering teams to ensure sustainable process performance and successful implementation of our products and technologies. The role reports to Lab Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Analyze, monitor, and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, productivity, cost, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Maintenance, EHS) to implement process changes and new product introductions.
- Support troubleshooting activities for process deviations, equipment issues, and quality failures using structured problem-solving methods (e.g., RCA, 5 Why, Fishbone).
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process deviations and quality issues.
- Support industrialization of new products, product transfers, scale-ups, and process validation activities in alignment with global engineering standards.
- Develop and maintain process documentation including work instructions, control plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical process control methodologies.
- Coordinate with maintenance and technical teams to ensure equipment capability and uptime.
- Ensure the safety of operators and equipment while complying with all safety and environmental regulations.
- Train operators and technicians on process changes, best practices, and safety requirements.
- Act with urgency to close out assigned projects actions according to deadlines.
- Analyze data to understand process capability and monitor process trends to drive continued manufacturing excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across EssilorLuxottica global operations to align best practices and transfer knowledge.
- Follow-up key performance indicators.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in manufacturing processes prefably in multinational organization setting.
- Strong knowledge of process improvement and operational excellence methods.
- Proven ability to drive cost reduction, yield improvement, and efficiency projects.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret process data and KPIs.
- Hands-on experience with structured problem-solving tools (RCA, 5 Why, Fishbone)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement and problem-solving methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma.
- Knowledge of quality systems and tools (SPC, FMEA, Control Plan, CAPA).
- Basic knowledge of electromechanical control (contactors, sensors) and frequency inverters.
- Knowledge of automation and industrial process control.
- Search for targets for performance, scrap, cost and efficiency indicators.
- Understanding of the principles of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Required Skills
- Good command of English.
- Microsoft office, Power BI.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis software (MINI TAB).
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
