Transmission Design/Simulation Engineer

General Requirements: 

• Bachelor, Master or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university.
• Great enthusiasm for working on powertrain and vehicle engineering fields especially on transmission systems. 
• Knowledge of transmission and gearbox systems, sub-systems and components such as transfer cases, axles, electric and hydraulic hybrid drive systems. 
• Fluency in English (German is a plus). 
• A self-initiative and solution-oriented nature, works well with the team but also prepared to work independently. 

• Experience with gear design tools such as KISSsoft/KISSsys is a plus. 
• No military service obligation (completed).  

• 3D modelling skills. 
• Proficiency in at least one CAD tool (CATIA/CREO/Siemens NX). 
• Good knowledge of manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining, grinding, hobbing, heat treatment, etc.). 

• Working knowledge of solid mechanics, dynamics, thermodynamics, 1D&3D fluid dynamics. 
• Proficiency in at least one CAE tool (Hyperworks, Abaqus, Ansys, Nastran etc.). 

• Concept and detail layout of transmissions and gearboxes for various applications and industries. 
• Designing rotating systems and related component selection (gears, shafts, clutches, bearings, seals, etc.). 
• Generation of 3D component/ subsystem models and manufacturing drawings. 
• Close cooperation with internal development departments, customers and suppliers. Internal and external presentation of project results. 

• Performing advanced computer aided simulations in at least one of the following fields: structural mechanics, computational fluid dynamics (1D&3D), multi body dynamics. 
• Developing alternative design solutions for complex problems with the help of CAE tools. 
• Close cooperation with internal development departments, customers and suppliers. Internal and external presentation of project results.
