Tooling Project Engineer

Job Description

       We are looking for an experienced person with a background inplastic injection molds to manage tooling projects from design through final approval.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage technical communication with domestic and international toolmakers and suppliers.
• Participate in tool design review meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal engineering teams.
• Review mold designs, 3D models, technical drawings, and DFM reports, providing technical feedback to optimize tooling performance and manufacturability.
• Follow up tooling projects throughout all phases, including design, manufacturing, assembly, mold trials, modifications, and final acceptance.
• Coordinate and attend T0, T1, T2, and subsequent mold trials, evaluating tooling performance and ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
• Travel internationally when required to monitor tooling manufacturing, participate in design reviews, witness mold trials, and ensure quality targets and project milestones are achieved.
• Monitor project schedules, prepare progress reports, and coordinate activities between suppliers and internal departments.
• Ensure tooling is delivered on time, within quality requirements, and according to project specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing  or a related technical field is preferred. Equivalent industry experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in plastic injection mold design, manufacturing, or tooling project management.
• Knowledge of plastic injection molds, mold design and injection molding processes.
• English with verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to lead technical meetings and communicate effectively with international suppliers.
• Willingness to travel internationally.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Experience in supplier management and tooling project follow-up is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with tooling suppliers in China or other Asian countries.
• Automotive and Plastic industry experience is preferred.
