ENGINEERING MANAGER

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS AND JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a solution-oriented approach to lead and coordinate our hotel’s engineering operations.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Ensure the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of the hotel’s building systems, equipment, facilities, and technical infrastructure.

* Manage and coordinate all preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance activities across the hotel.

* Plan, organize, and supervise the daily operations of the Engineering Department.

* Develop, implement, and monitor preventive maintenance programs to ensure operational efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.

* Plan team schedules and ensure effective workforce allocation according to operational requirements.

* Ensure that all maintenance requests, particularly those affecting guest rooms and public areas, are addressed promptly and in accordance with Hyatt standards.

* Monitor the performance and condition of mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and other technical systems.

* Monitor utility consumption and implement initiatives to improve energy efficiency, environmental performance, and sustainability.

* Ensure the proper operation and regular inspection of life safety, fire protection, and emergency systems.

* Prepare and monitor monthly utility consumption reports, including electricity, water, natural gas, and other relevant resources.

* Support annual budget planning, departmental cost control, and efficient resource utilization.

* Coordinate purchasing requirements for technical equipment, spare parts, tools, and consumable materials in cooperation with the Purchasing Department.

* Manage contractors, suppliers, and external service providers in accordance with hotel standards, occupational health and safety requirements, and operational needs.

* Ensure compliance with applicable local and national legislation, occupational health and safety regulations, fire safety requirements, and company policies.

* Maintain effective communication and close coordination with all hotel departments to support smooth hotel operations.

* Support the recruitment, orientation, training, and development of Engineering team members.

* Promote a culture of safety, efficiency, teamwork, sustainability, and continuous improvement within the department.

* Respond effectively to technical emergencies and operational issues and ensure appropriate corrective actions are taken.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or another relevant Engineering discipline.

* Relevant technical and engineering experience within the hospitality industry, preferably in an international hotel environment.

* Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory engineering position.

* Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

* Strong knowledge of hotel building systems, HVAC, electrical and mechanical systems, preventive maintenance, and technical operations.

* Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, utility management, and energy-efficiency practices.

* Good knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations, fire and life safety systems, and emergency procedures.

* Strong leadership and people-management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a technical team.

* Excellent planning, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

* Guest-oriented with a strong commitment to operational excellence and service quality.

* Proactive, detail-oriented, and solution-focused.

* Able to work effectively in a dynamic hotel environment and adapt to flexible working hours.
