The Spectroscopy@IKU - Manipulating and Characterizing Molecular Architectures: from Isolated Molecules to Molecular Crystals project, funded under the HORIZON EUROPE ERA Chairs program, invites applications for a MSc. student position in molecular spectroscopy and related fields.

About the Project

This project aims to establish a center of excellence in spectroscopy, advancing research in molecular structures, reactivity, and polymorphism in molecular crystals and co-crystals. Our research contributes to addressing critical scientific and societal challenges in atmospheric and astrophysical chemistry, materials science, and molecular physics. Position Details

·         Location: Istanbul Kültür University, Ataköy Campus

·         Field: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science or a related field

·         Start Date: 01 Sep 2026

·         Duration: 1 year, renewable

·         Funding: Supported within the scope of the Spectroscopy@IKU project

Eligibility Criteria

·         Currently enrolled or eligible to enroll in a MSc. program in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Materials Science or a related field

·         Strong motivation for experimental research in spectroscopy

·         Ability to work in a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment

·         Basic knowledge of spectroscopic methods, computational modeling, or experimental techniques is a plus

·         English proficiency is preferred for international collaboration

Responsibilities

·         Conduct research in molecular spectroscopy and participate in project activities

·         Collaborate with researchers within the Spectroscopy@IKU project and contribute to scientific publications

·         Utilize advanced laboratory facilities and computational tools under the supervision of senior researchers
