We are looking for a BHS Operation Engineer to join our growing operations team and contribute to the efficient and seamless management of baggage handling processes at one of Türkiye’s busiest airports.

What is BHS?

Baggage Handling Systems (BHS) are integrated automation systems that use automated conveyor and transport systems to route passenger baggage at airports—from the check-in stage to loading onto the aircraft, and upon arrival, to the baggage claim areas. These systems consist of conveyor lines, sensors, sorting points, automatic routing mechanisms, and control software. This position will play an active role in ensuring the support for maintenance, repair, and continuous operation of these systems. (Development support will be provided for candidates who lack BHS knowledge but have a strong technical background.)

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the smooth and efficient execution of baggage handling operations involving operational stakeholders such as airlines and ground handling companies
• Monitor, analyze, and continuously improve baggage operation processes to enhance efficiency and service quality
• Collect, process, and analyze meaningful operational data related to baggage handling operations to support data-driven decision-making
• Prepare regular reports and dashboards by transforming operational data into actionable insights and presenting outcomes to management
• Ensure the efficient and sustainable utilization of baggage operation resources.
• Plan and coordinate workforce allocation of the operational team during shifts to ensure operational continuity
• Identify improvement opportunities within operational workflows and actively contribute to process development initiatives

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (preferably Industrial Engineering)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the aviation sector, preferably in airport or baggage operations
• Strong command of English (written and spoken)
• Proficient in MS Office applications, especially Excel
• Experience in process management, process improvement, and operational optimization
• Strong analytical skills with hands-on experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting
• Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in a dynamic, fast-paced operational environment
• Strong communication, planning, and problem-solving skills
