We are looking for a qualified "Occupational Health and Safety Team Leader." The candidate will be reporting directly to the Quality, OHS and ESG Group Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s or higher degree in a related field,
• 10–12 years of professional experience in Occupational Health and Safety functions,
• At least Class B Occupational Health and Safety Specialist Certificate,
• Knowledge and experience in ISO 45001 Management Systems,
• Team management, leadership, and coordination skills,
• ISO 45001 internal auditor certificate (preferred),
• Advanced proficiency in English, both written and verbal,
• Strategic planning skills in emergency scenarios, business impact analysis (BIA), and crisis management,
• Ability to develop quick and effective solutions for situations that risk employee health and safety,
• Ability to perform effective risk assessment and root cause analysis.
• Experience with Integrated Management System software (QDMS, etc.),
• Technical Training (Safe Working with Chemicals, Scaffolding Supervision, etc.) (preferred),
• Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint): Advanced knowledge of preparing occupational safety reports and presentations, performing data analysis,

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Following the occupational health and safety legislation and international standards, in coordination with the Health Center and the Fire and Emergency teams to ensure compliance with legal requirements,
• Establishing risk analysis teams and ensuring that analyses are carried out, determining risk prevention strategies and conducting corrective and preventive actions with relevant units to ensure operational resilience,
• Creating and implementing processes to form a safety culture throughout the institution in line with the "Zero Accident" vision,
• Following occupational health and safety performance indicators and preparing reports for the senior management,
• Monitoring and auditing the quality of occupational health and safety services at locations where such services are obtained,
• Ensuring that the occupational safety documentation is complete and updated,
• Determining strategies with the Health Center team and the Occupational Physicians within the scope of health risk management, ensuring that field measurements are carried out and identifying and implementing necessary corrective actions,
• Carrying out legal guidance and consultancy duties in occupational safety matters in accordance with Law No. 6331 and representing the University in relevant official matters,
• Developing proactive measures with the Health Center and the Fire and Emergency teams to prevent accidents, occupational diseases or hazardous situations and monitoring the applicability of relevant procedures for high-risk works in the field,
• Issuing work permits for high-risk and/or non-routine work, conducting on-site inspections to ensure the safety of employees and the workplace throughout the work,
• Controlling the document management of the contractor firms and their employees in line with the Personal Data Protection Law and granting the necessary approvals,
• Conducting a risk-based audit system process covering the University Central Campus, external locations and all operations in coordination with the Health Center and the Fire and Emergency teams, following up on the relevant corrective/preventive action processes and reporting to Senior Management,
• Ensuring that all subcontractors are audited in terms of occupational health and safety in coordination with the Health Center and the Fire and Emergency teams,
• Preparing Emergency Management processes (Plan, Drill, Equipment, Flowcharts, Training, etc.) in coordination with the Fire and Emergency team,
• Conducting continuous development and mentoring processes to increase the technical and professional competencies of the OHS Specialists.
