Internal Audit Manager

As Limak Group, we are looking for an experienced “Internal Audit Manager” to join our İstanbul office.

This role is critical in strengthening our internal audit methodology while actively contributing to audit engagements across a diverse portfolio of energy, construction, and infrastructure companies within the Group.

We are seeking a candidate who will not only perform audits, but also elevate audit quality, consistency, and impact across the organization.

Job Description

The position will be based in Istanbul and the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Leading the development and continuous improvement of internal audit methodology, tools, and templates (risk assessment, audit programs, testing approaches, and reporting standards)
• Ensuring consistent and high-quality application of audit methodology across all audit engagements
• Providing hands-on coaching and on-the-job guidance to audit teams during planning and fieldwork phases
• Identifying and assessing risks across various business units and operations within the Group
• Contributing to the preparation of the annual risk-based internal audit plans
• Performing financial, operational, system, and process audits across different sectors
• Actively participating in audit fieldwork, including walkthroughs, control testing, and root cause analysis
• Preparing clear, insightful audit reports and presenting key findings and recommendations to senior management
• Identifying opportunities for financial recovery, cost savings, and risk mitigation through audit activities
• Supporting or leading investigations when required
• Collaborating with stakeholders across multiple business units within a holding structure

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in internal audit
• Proven experience in designing, developing, or improving audit methodologies, frameworks, or tools
• Strong understanding of the end-to-end audit lifecycle (process mapping, risk assessment, control design, testing, reporting, and follow-up)
• Solid knowledge of IIA Standards and risk-based auditing approaches
• Experience in performing both process-level and transaction-level audits
• Excellent command of Turkish and English (written and spoken)
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work hands-on while also providing strategic direction
• No restriction for travel

Preferred Qualifications

• Big4 or consulting background with strong exposure to audit methodology and structured audit approaches
• Experience in energy, construction, or infrastructure sectors
• Professional certifications such as CIA, CISA, or SMMM
• Strong understanding of ERP systems and data-driven audit techniques
