Plant Manager

Omya is a leading global producer of industrial minerals – mainly fillers and pigments derived from calcium carbonate and dolomite – and a worldwide distributor of specialty chemicals. We are looking for a Plant Manager who will be based in our İzmir Plant.

Ideal candidate is expected to have the following qualifications and skills:

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering with a specialization in Production and Maintenance (Preferably Mining – Mechanical – Chemical - Industrial Engineering)

• Minimum 10 years of experience in manufacturing, managerial or supervisory position. (Especially grinding, packing, mining, chemical industries)

• Planning, permitting and operational experience in plant operations would be an advantage. 

• Strong people management and interpersonal skills, with cultural sensitivity and strong social competences.

• Ability to work in a cross-functional team, in multicultural environment.

• Highly motivated, results oriented and proactively solve problems.

• Ability to manage projects and drive to completion.

• Effective planning and project management skills.

• Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.

• Available to travel occasionally within region, as required, to support the business.

Job Details:

• Responsible for the management of one of our plants, coordinating all activities related to plant operational functions, following the established policies and in accordance to schedules, quantities, quality and costs.

• Responsible for continuous improvement of processes, products and production optimization.

• Coordinate all site related operational functions involving:

         Production

         Packaging 

         Maintenance

         Warehousing/Inventory

         Logistics 

         Raw Material and Development

• Manage local capital expenditure within the defined budget in line with the business plan, and ensure to complete projects in accordance to schedules, budget and quality
