Position Summary
In this entry-level role, you will be trained to manage documentation and electronic data transmissions required for US-bound shipments. Your primary focus will be learning and executing accurateAMS (Automated Manifest System) filings, ensuring compliance with US Customs regulations, and coordinating with international agents and carriers.
Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & AMS Filing: Learn and execute electronic transmissions of AMS (Automated Manifest System) filings for US-bound cargo.
- Documentation Review: Assist in verifying shipping documents (HBL, MBL, Commercial Invoice, Packing List) to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Coordination: Communicate with ocean carriers, US agents, and origin offices to track shipments and resolve minor manifest discrepancies.
- Tracking & Tracing: Monitor vessel sailing schedules, system alerts, and customs statuses to ensure on-time delivery and avoid penalties.
- Team Support: Provide daily operational support to the US Trade Lane team and assist with reporting duties.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: No prior experience required Comprehensive, hands-on training will be provided. (Any internship or educational background in Logistics, International Trade, or Business is a plus).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree (Logistics, Maritime, International Trade, or related fields preferred).
· Working Hours: 09.00 – 18.00
- Language: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (this is mandatory, as you will interact with US partners daily).
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, and comfortable working with numbers and digital systems (MS Excel knowledge is a big advantage).
- Mindset: Eager to learn, proactive, and capable of working under tight deadlines (e.g., US Customs 24-Hour Rule).
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to flexible working hours occasionally due to US time zone differences.
