Office for Learning and Teaching Enhancement (OLTE) is a centralized resource for instructional design and consultation for online, face-to-face, and blended learning, as well as assistance with tools, skills, and pedagogical support for engaging students in quality learning experiences. Faculty members and instructional consultants work together in the creation of exciting and meaningful experiences. 

This individual will analyze learning needs, design and develop learning solutions, and measure and report out on learning effectiveness. As such, the person in this position must be able to work collaboratively in a changing environment with operative deadlines, demonstrate the ability and willingness to learn from peers within and beyond the OLTE, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and meet the performance expectations of the Director for OLTE.

Required Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a relevant area (Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Educational Psychology, Learning Sciences, Curriculum and Instruction or etc.)or master’s degree/PhD. Candidates can be accepted upon their related experiences.
• At least 3 years of Educational Design and Development for digital modalities experience.
• At least 3 years of teaching experience.
• Working knowledge of current trends and research data related to teaching and learning.
• Excellent working knowledge of centrally supported teaching and learning technologies at OzU.
• Strong technology and project management skills.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication, and presentation skills in English (minimum B2 level).
• Must be available to support OLTE events that will occur outside the normal work schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Increase the effectiveness of learning solutions by identifying and recommending format/modalities that create an optimal learning experience.
• Design and develop curriculum, programs, learning materials and performance support tools (including self-study, classroom, e-Learning, etc.) based on universal standards for a given modality (includes traditional, web, and mobile design).
• Design content, including (but not limited to) measurable learning objectives, leaders and participant materials and tools, experiential scenarios and simulations, assessment and evaluation questions.
• Decrease required development time through advanced use of multiple rapid-development authoring tools.
• Demonstrate an aptitude for, knowledge of, and agility with new learning technologies in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Design training solutions that demonstrate an understanding of adult learning principles and leverage current learning trends, including gamification and rich media (example: video) to enhance the learner experience.
• Determine, recommend, and document project instructional standards and strategies, learner engagement strategies, and evaluation plan.
• Represent Learning in broader project efforts, ensuring an early focus on the implementation needs to ensure effective delivery in 100% alignment with project timeline goals.
• Engage with project team members to enable clarity of goal; conduct on-going reviews to ensure outcome is on track to meet client needs.
• Consult with director on performance improvement and learning strategy.
• Make decisions by identifying issues, diagnosing problems, generating alternative solutions and analyzing opportunities and risks.
• Set and achieve challenging individual goals that support the office and university goals.
• Assume personal responsibility for projects and follow-through to completion with minimal need for direct supervision.
