Founded in 2007 as a subsidiary of KOLOĞLU HOLDING, SEFINE is one of the few shipyards in Turkey capable of simultaneously delivering new shipbuilding, military projects, ship repair and maintenance, ship conversion services, and large-scale steel structure projects. Located on the shores of the Sea of Marmara in Yalova-Altınova, the shipyard spans an area of 300,000 m², making it one of the largest shipyards in the region and holding a prominent position in the industry.

Since its establishment, Sefine has been a pioneer in the Turkish maritime sector. With over 6,000 employees, including subcontractors, it stands out as the largest shipyard in terms of installed capacity, business volume, and project diversity. It offers high-quality and high-capacity ship repair, maintenance, and conversion services with the region's largest dry dock, 90,000 DWT Post-Panamax capacity and two floating docks with lifting capacities of 40,000 tons and 75,000 tons respectively.

We are seeking for “HSE Executive” to join our Health, Safety and Environment team with following qualifications,

Responsibilities

• Checking H&S aspects of the works, identifying the hazards, implementing risk management process, and ensuring that control measures are implemented in order to maintain a healthy and safe working environment for all the employees by taking into account the legislative, industry, and company policies
• Initiating and supporting H&S projects, programs, and campaigns and ensuring H&S aspects of the projects are in line with policies and standards
• Providing proactive advice and supporting on Health and Safety issues including: guidance and interpretation of policies and standards; monitor, audie and update of procedures
• Maintaining and developing H&S Management System in line with ISO 45001 standards and company policies
• Ensuring the risk assessments that carried out in all departments, to make suggestions about the measures to be taken and to follow up
• Making suggetions on the selection, testing, using, maintenance and preservation of personal protective equipment to be used in the jobs performed
• Assisting fully in the investigation of incidents and events by focusing on root cause analysis and preventive actions
• Conducting field inspections and observations, following up and coordinating H&S corrective and preventive actions, monitoring and analyzing inputs for effective H&S programs
• Promoting guidance on machinery safety issues, making suggestions and following up
• Preparing, combining and following up weekly & monthly H&S reports, legally required reports and coordinate with the related departments
• Developing and conducting H&S trainings and orientation programs for the employees, contractors, trainees and ensuring H&S standards are properly implemented
• Providing controls and suggestions for contractor activities and employees to work within the scope of H&S regulations, sector and company policies
• Carrying out studies on subjects; Chemicals Management, Contractor Management, Work Permit System Management, Training Management, etc.
• Promote, guide, and support Company´s overall compliance with H&S legal requirements, monitoring the deadlines of legal permissions' and prepare the renewal applications
• Ensuring management and coordination of jobs, ships and team members
• Preparing and reviewing H&S performance, KPIs and statistics periodically

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering Faculties
• Certified as B class (or above) occupational safety specialist (preferably A class)
• Minimum 10 years of HSE experience in heavy industry (preferably ship-building), particularly took an active role in team management
• Competency on health and safety legislation, national and international standards
• Excellent MS Office skills especially and able to use ERP softwares
• Experienced in team management, high coordination ability, complying with regular and planned working principles
• Capable to act in dynamic work environment, have strong observation skills, and focus on technical details and documentation prosess
• Able to establish constructive relations with all level of employees and team members by using communication skills effectively, carry out teamwork
• Have strong conceptual and analytical thinking competencies
• Preferably have NEBOSH/IOSH certification Live or willingness to live in Yalova, Kocaeli or Istanbul (Anatolian Side)
