Senior Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with at least 15 years of experience to join our Istanbul Head Office. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of complex, large-scale projects by providing technical expertise and supporting multidisciplinary project management teams.

 Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 15 years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
• Preferably experienced in large-scale building projects such as hotels, hospitals, shopping malls, airports, data centers, industrial facilities, power generation plants, and manufacturing facilities.
• Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in medium- and low-voltage electrical distribution systems, power generation and backup systems (generators, UPS), lighting systems, grounding and lightning protection systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and building management systems (BMS).
• Solid understanding of electrical design, load calculations, single-line diagrams, technical specifications, materials, installation methods, testing, commissioning, and project planning.
• Proven experience in quality control, inspections, testing and commissioning, and reporting in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, and technical documentation.
• Experience in reviewing and approving electrical materials and equipment, monitoring installations, and preparing/reviewing inspection and testing documentation.
• Capable of preparing and reviewing quantity take-offs, progress reports, cost analyses, interim payment documentation, change orders, and project schedules.
• Good knowledge of international and local electrical codes, standards, and Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) regulations.
• Previous experience working within project management and consultancy teams.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills throughout the project lifecycle.
• Results-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and quality-focused working practices.
• Analytical mindset with strong supervision, coordination, and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
• Proficient in spoken and written English, including technical correspondence, presentations, and reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and relevant engineering software. 

 Job Description / Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise all electrical engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle, from design review to construction, testing, commissioning, and project close-out.
• Review electrical designs, drawings, calculations, technical specifications, and shop drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and international standards.
• Monitor and inspect the installation of electrical systems, including medium- and low-voltage power distribution, lighting, grounding and lightning protection, generators, UPS systems, fire alarm systems, security systems, and Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Coordinate with clients, designers, contractors, subcontractors, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure effective project execution and timely resolution of technical issues.
• Review and approve material submittals, method statements, inspection requests, testing and commissioning procedures, and as-built documentation.
• Conduct regular site inspections, identify non-conformities, recommend corrective actions, and ensure compliance with quality standards and project specifications.
• Monitor project progress, evaluate contractor performance, and verify completed works for interim payment applications and project reporting.
• Prepare and review technical reports, progress reports, risk assessments, variation orders, and project documentation.
• Participate in technical meetings, provide engineering support during project planning and execution, and contribute to value engineering initiatives where applicable.
• Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) requirements and promote safe working practices on site.
• Support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and resource coordination to achieve project objectives.
• Mentor junior electrical engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the project team.
• Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders and proactively resolve technical and contractual issues to ensure successful project delivery.
