Qualifications and Job Description

Sistem Teknik Endüstriyel Fırınlar A.Ş. has been designing and manufacturing industrial heat treatment furnaces since 1979. Serving customers in more than 35 countries, we develop advanced furnace systems and automation solutions for the aluminum, light metals, and composite industries.

As part of our continued global growth, we are looking for a Mechanical Design & Project Engineer to join our R&D and Engineering team and take an active role in the design and execution of international industrial furnace projects.

Your Role

In this position, you will be responsible for developing mechanical designs for industrial furnace systems and coordinating engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with the R&D, production, automation, purchasing, quality, and project teams to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with technical specifications, quality standards, budgets, and delivery schedules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed mechanical designs for industrial furnaces, machinery, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, and technical documentation.
  • Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and design verification activities.
  • Create and maintain bills of materials and technical specifications.
  • Review customer requirements, contracts, project specifications, and applicable technical standards.
  • Prepare project schedules and follow engineering, purchasing, production, assembly, and delivery milestones.
  • Coordinate technical activities between internal departments, suppliers, subcontractors, and customers.
  • Monitor project progress and identify potential technical, scheduling, or cost-related risks.
  • Manage design revisions and ensure that all project documentation remains accurate and up to date.
  • Participate in design review, project review, and customer coordination meetings.
  • Provide technical support during manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Follow projects from the initial engineering phase through production, installation, commissioning, and final handover.
  • Support continuous improvement, standardization, and value-engineering activities.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in mechanical design, project engineering, or industrial machinery projects.
  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, or comparable CAD software.
  • Strong knowledge of technical drawing, dimensional tolerancing, manufacturing methods, and mechanical assembly principles.
  • Experience preparing manufacturing drawings, bills of materials, layouts, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to manage multiple engineering tasks and project priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong planning, coordination, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required.
  • Class B driver’s license.
  • No travel restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial furnaces, thermal processing equipment, combustion systems, material handling systems, or heavy industrial machinery.
  • Familiarity with aluminum production, recycling, melting, casting, or heat treatment processes.
  • Previous experience in international engineering or turnkey industrial projects.
  • Knowledge of project planning and project management tools.
  • Familiarity with risk management, change management, and project cost monitoring.
  • Knowledge of relevant machinery safety, manufacturing, and engineering standards.
  • Experience with engineering calculations or simulation software.
  • Familiarity with ERP, PLM, or document management systems.
