To provide administrative support to the Secondary School Leadership Team, assist in the
smooth operation of the secondary school, act as a liaison between teaching staff,
leadership, and other sections of BSI, manage educational resources effectively, coordinate
trips and coordinate the school’s accreditation processes to ensure institutional alignment
with international standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Administrative Assistant to the SSLT
- Act as a key point of contact between the Director and internal/external stakeholders.
- Support the SSLT in strategic planning, data gathering, and school development
initiatives.
- Create and maintain essential documentation, such as student attendance, booking
sheets, student reports (including printing) and events calendar.
2. Staff Liaison Officer
- Serve as a communication bridge between school staff and other departments within
the organisation.
- Advise and direct staff in relation to aspects of life in Turkiye and Istanbul
(accommodation, utilities, legal issues etc.)
- Organize staff meetings, maintain meeting records, and follow up on action items.
- Support new staff induction and orientation processes.
- Promote a positive staff culture and well-being through consistent, professional
engagement.
3. Trip Coordinator
- Work with academic staff, Deputy Director (MEB), campus operations manager, bus
service provider and designated tour companies to ensure all day and residential
trips run smoothly
4. Educational Resource Manager
- Coordinate the procurement, distribution, storage and inventory of textbooks,
teaching materials, digital tools, and classroom equipment.
- Collaborate with heads of department to forecast resource needs.
- Ensure efficient use and maintenance of learning spaces (eg. labs, libraries, resource
rooms).
- Oversee budget tracking for departmental and school-wide educational resources
and professional development.
- Maintain and organise the booking system for shared facilities and resources
5. Accreditation Coordinator
- Liaise with accrediting and authorising bodies (e.g., CIS, MSA, COBIS, IB,
Cambridge) and IB & IGCSE Coordinators to ensure compliance and reporting.
- Coordinate the preparation, collection, and submission of documentation required for
accreditation or evaluation visits.
- Lead internal teams through self-study and evidence-gathering processes.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accreditation files and calendars.
General Duties:
- Uphold the school’s mission, values, and safeguarding standards.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Attend leadership or management meetings as required.
- Provide flexible support to whole-school events and functions.
Specification:
- Is fluent in both English and Turkish
- Preferably a qualified teacher (potentially being used for cover)
- Has advanced skills in using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
- Has good written and oral communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills
- Is able to work calmly under pressure in a busy environment
- Is able to work on their own initiative, making sure deadlines are met
- Is able to work independently and as part of a team
- Is willing to learn
- Is discrete. They will have access to confidential information
- Has a flexible approach to their work and can adapt quickly to change
- Has good organisational skills
