Junior Procurement Engineer

Position Summary

We are looking for a Junior Procurement Engineer to support the technical and commercial sourcing, development, and qualification of suppliers for production materials, mechanical components, raw materials, and outsourced manufacturing processes.

The role combines mechanical/material engineering knowledge with procurement activities and requires close collaboration with suppliers, Engineering, Quality, Production, Logistics, and Global Procurement teams.

This position is suitable for new graduates and early-career engineers interested in developing their careers in technical procurement, strategic sourcing, supplier development, and localization.

Responsibilities

• Search for and develop local and international suppliers for mechanical components, raw materials, tooling, and outsourced manufacturing processes.
• Evaluate suppliers from technical and commercial perspectives, including manufacturing capability, capacity, quality, lead time, and competitiveness.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, materials, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements in coordination with suppliers and internal teams.
• Manage RFQ processes, analyze quotations, and prepare technical and commercial comparisons for supplier selection.
• Participate in supplier negotiations and cost-reduction activities, including benchmarking, localization, alternative materials/processes, and value engineering.
• Support supplier development and industrialization from initial sourcing through samples, trials, validation, ramp-up, and serial production.
• Participate in supplier visits, technical assessments, process audits, and improvement activities, following agreed actions until completion.
• Maintain relevant procurement data and reports in ERP/SAP and cooperate with Global Procurement and Engineering teams on sourcing and supplier-development projects.
• Perform other procurement and supplier-development activities related to the position as requested by the supervisor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Materials Engineering;new graduates are welcome to apply.
• 0–3 years of experience in procurement, supplier development, manufacturing, quality, production, or related areas is an advantage.
• Good knowledge of engineering materials, manufacturing processes, and technical drawing interpretation.
• Basic understanding of machining, casting, forging, heat treatment, sheet metal processes, tolerances, and engineering standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical skills with an interest in technical and commercial processes.
• Proactive, result-oriented, willing to learn, and able to work effectively incross-functional teams.
• Minimum intermediate English, with the ability to communicate with international suppliers and colleagues.
• Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ERP/SAP knowledge is an advantage.
