To strengthen our team we are looking for a Supplier Quality Engineer!

What You’ll Do

• Verifies and approves new or changed components production processes through the application of Yazaki APQP/component verification process by the environmental quality and any relevant Yazaki or customer requirement

• Pro-actively collaborates with affected affiliates and business units to obtain functional engineering and design approval

• Identify and analyze suspect components and initiate an action like customer and engineering involvement to reduce quality incidents on purchased materials and qualifications

• Support supplier profiling and risk assessments and initiate supplier action plans for improvement to support reduced quality and logistic risks during the sourcing decision and approval process. Drive relevant risk assessment and mitigation action as part of sourcing recommendation and approval package

• Perform supplier process audits including run and rates and capacity checks by Yazaki and customers' standards. Define and follow up audit action plans and collaborate with European supplier development Lead Auditor

• Material sample submission and approval (PPAP or adequate)

• Manage all activities defined per Yazaki’s project management system within customer projects to achieve full material or product approval until the start of production (4B) under consideration of customer-specific standards and project requirements together with advanced purchasing  and project managers

• Report the status of APQP (including all components on BOM) and GPMS deliverables in functional reviews and gate meetings

• Uses the APQP tracking tool for all new Yazaki-developed components in cooperation with the related project suppliers/BU component engineering to ensure APQP status transparency

• Coordinates the related SDDC and plant activities and collaboration with BU buyer and project management

• Launch support for suppliers to ensure flawless launch in customer and Yazaki affiliates

• Support Yazaki affiliates in case of issues in serial production with project knowledge and involve commodity SQE if needed

• Support Category SQEs for all supplier monitoring and development activities for Business Unit sourced/directed suppliers

• Support change coordinator and follow-up supplier-initiated design changes to meet 90 days target

• Continuously drives the analysis of improvement potentials in the process landscape of Supply Development

Required Qualifications of Ideal Candidate

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant fields)

• Quality core tools, Lean, Kaizen Supplier development knowledge is required

• 4 to 7 years of experience in similar positions

• Excellent command of English, both written and spoken

• Advanced level of MS Office Applications

• Self-motivated, analytical thinking, result-oriented approach, and good interpersonal skills are required competencies

• Male candidates should have completed military service
