Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Engineering Manager to lead and, if necessary, build our engineering team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing the design and drafting processes for key equipment such as pressure vessels, heat exchangers, drums, columns, and piping. You will oversee a team of designers and drafters, ensuring that all designs meet stringent industry standards and are optimized for manufacturability. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring the technical accuracy and compliance of our products with various industry codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead and mentor a team of engineers and drafters, and, as required, build the team for specific disciplines. Provide guidance on best practices in design, drafting, and fabrication of industrial equipment.
- Design and Drafting: Oversee the design and drafting processes for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, drums, columns, piping, and prefabricated piping. This includes the use of advanced design software and adherence to engineering standards.
- ERP Integration: Collaborate on the implementation or enhancement of the company’s ERP system, ensuring seamless integration with design and engineering processes.
- Production-Ready Design Transfer: Ensure that the final product designs generated from the design and drafting process are transferred to the company's ERP system in a format optimized for manufacturing.
- Project Management: Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and procurement, to ensure timely and cost-effective project execution. Reviewing customer technical specifications, coordination of design-related technical queries with the customers.
- Technical Compliance: Ensure that all designs are compliant with industry standards such as ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, ASME PVHO-1, EN 13445, EN 14015, API 650 & API 620, and TEMA. Conduct regular reviews and updates to ensure alignment with regulatory changes.
- Innovation and Optimization: Continuously seek ways to improve product designs for efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness. Evaluate and implement new tools, technologies, and processes that enhance the design and manufacturing process.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of design work, project plans, and technical documentation. Report progress to senior management and provide insights on project performance and engineering improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Industrial, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent business management qualification is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of design and analysis software, including PV Elite, Compress, ANSYS, Staad-Pro, Inventor, and AutoCAD 3D Plant.
- Industry Standards Expertise: In-depth understanding of industry codes and standards such as ASME Section VIII Div. 1 & Div. 2, ASME PVHO-1, EN 13445, EN 14015, API 650 & API 620, and TEMA.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the design and engineering of industrial equipment, with at least 5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
- Mechanical Design Leadership: Ability to ensure that the mechanical design of products is fully completed in-house and to effectively outsource other design disciplines when necessary.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze technical challenges and develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Communication Skills: Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English. Ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership Qualities: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
Working Conditions:
- Employment Type: Full-time
- Location: Bergama Organized Industrial Zone, Bergama. Candidates should be able to reside in various locations, including Bergama, Aliağa, Dikili, or İzmir.
- Work Environment: Primarily office-based, with occasional visits to the manufacturing floor to ensure the design integrity and feasibility of production processes.
