Health and Safety Engineer

We are looking for a Health & Safety Engineer who will be responsible for developing and implementing the health, safety, environment,  (HSE) systems and programs in order to maintain safe work environment for company employees and promoting health&safety culture in workplace. He/She will work with external consultants, has to follow the guidelines established by Turkish regulatory bodies.

He/She will develop and implement internal health and safety policies/strategies necessary for optimized work processes, will take the necessary measures and controls in order to prevent a situation contrary to work and environmental safety in the company.

Health & Safety Engineer conducts risk assessments and site inspections to identify work locations that are potentially dangerous or having risk. He/She will be visiting our Çorlu and İnegöl plants every week.

The Health and Safety engineer job requires ;

·         A Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering

·         Have at least 6 years of HSE experience

·         Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

·         Have strong communication & interpersonal skills and have attention for detail

·         Have problem solving skills

This position will be reporting to Supply Chain&Operations Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To fulfill all duties specified in the Occupational Health and Safety Law No. 6331.
• To follow all legal regulations and requirements, to update company procedures, instructions and practices in accordance with these regulations and to revise the practices accordingly
• In the audits, to deal with the auditors personally and to manage the audits and to report the results.
• Comprehensive process, business, personnel and environment risk analysis within the whole company, to implement the actions of identified risks and to follow up
• To perform process and occupational safety risk analyzes in machinery, equipment, equipment installation or revisions and to take necessary measures. Management of change, work permit, applying LOTO (lock out take out) procedures, filling out forms and reporting
• To investigate the causes of work accidents, first aid, near misses, observations and risks; to take precautions and prevent risks
• To prepare and implement work and training plans, periodic control plans
• To work on the HSE improvements in the facility, to discuss with external companies, to receive offers, to present to management and to ensure that they are applied correctly in the company
• To prepare occupational health and safety instructions and work permit procedures for use where necessary and submitting them to the employer for approval and controlling their implementation.
• To check, coordinate, monitor environmental management services regularly and to determine whether the obligations specified in the relevant legislation are fulfilled, to take the necessary actions and implement them for the fulfillment
• ISO, ISG-Environmental management systems management, control, follow-up and to prepare all necessary documents.
• Make recommendations to management on fire regulations, occupational diseases, and waste disposal
