Position Purpose
The Commercial Product Procurement & Import Operations Specialist is responsible for effectively managing the operational processes related to theprocurement, supplier communication, order management, production follow-up, shipment, and import operations of the company's imported commercial products.
The position will contribute to ensuring that products are sourced with theright cost, quality, lead time, and delivery schedule by closely following the day-to-day procurement and import operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for the procurement processes of commercial products in the kitchenware, home & living, and outdoor categories,
- Manage communication with existing and potential suppliers, primarily in China and other Far East markets,
- Request and compare supplier quotations, including pricing, product specifications, MOQ, lead times, payment terms, and production conditions,
- Create, follow up, and accurately record purchase orders in the relevant systems,
- Follow up on sample processes and coordinate the control of product specifications, colors, dimensions, materials, packaging, and technical requirements with the relevant teams,
- Monitor production processes and obtain regular production status updates from suppliers,
- Follow production lead times and shipment schedules and report potential delays and risks to the relevant managers,
- Follow up on import documentation, including proforma invoices, commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and other relevant foreign trade documents,
- Coordinate operational communication between freight forwarders, customs brokers, logistics companies, and suppliers,
- Follow loading, shipment, transit times, and warehouse arrival processes,
- Support the monitoring of import costs and product-based procurement costs,
- Monitor supplier performance in terms of price, quality, lead time, and delivery,
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date data entry and records for procurement and import processes in the ERP system,
- Prepare regular reports on products, orders, inventory, shipments, and import status,
- Work closely with the procurement, sales, planning, finance, quality, and warehouse teams,
- Support new product and supplier research, as well as international trade fair and market research activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in International Trade, Foreign Trade, Logistics, Business Administration, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field,
- Minimum 3 years of experience in commercial product procurement, import operations, or foreign trade,
- Experience in kitchenware, home & living, outdoor, kitchen products, or non-FMCG retail product categories is preferred,
- Experience working with suppliers in China and the Far East or in international procurement processes,
- Good knowledge of the fundamental processes and documentation related to imports and international trade,
- Proficient in written and spoken English, with the ability to independently communicate with international suppliers via email and meetings,
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel,
- Experience with ERP systems and procurement modules is preferred,
- Strong follow-up, planning, organization, and reporting skills,
- Detail-oriented, disciplined in task management, and results-driven,
- Able to manage multiple orders and supplier processes simultaneously,
- Strong communication and negotiation skills,
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally,
- Based in Izmir or willing to relocate.
