We are seeking a dynamic, self-motivated, and analytically-minded Geotechnical Chief to lead geotechnical and hydrogeological operations at our mining site. The successful candidate will oversee critical data analysis, ground control planning, and ensure safety compliance through rigorous field investigations and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, analyze, and report on rock mass and geotechnical data using tools such as RADAR, InSAR, and vibration sensors.
- Develop and maintain Ground Control Management Plans and geotechnical monitoring thresholds (TARPs).
- Conduct hydrogeological studies and perform both lab and field tests.
- Coordinate with mine planning, survey, and operational teams to align on safety and geotechnical strategies.
- Lead the preparation of technical reports including RADAR reports, daily/weekly/monthly geotechnical assessments, and flash reports.
Required Qualifications
- BSc in Geological Engineering (MSc or PhD preferred).
- Minimum 6 years of experience in mining geotechnics, with demonstrable leadership.
- Strong command of English (both written and spoken).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and geotechnical/mine planning software (e.g., Rocscience, Surpac, Leapfrog).
- Willingness to relocate to where mining site is located.
- Valid driving license.
- Military service completed (for male candidates).
