Global Medical Innovations is an international medical device trading company specializing in global sourcing, parallel trade, and strategic procurement. We work with hospitals, distributors, manufacturers, and healthcare companies across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and North America.
As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a highly motivated Strategic Sourcing & Business Development Specialist to strengthen our Purchasing Department.
Position Summary
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys researching, building new supplier relationships, negotiating, and solving complex sourcing challenges.
Unlike a traditional purchasing role, your primary responsibility will be identifying new suppliers, obtaining competitive quotations, expanding our global supplier network, and supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and follow up on new purchasing opportunities generated by the Sales team.
- Identify and qualify manufacturers, distributors, and alternative suppliers worldwide.
- Conduct market research to locate new sourcing opportunities and parallel trade channels.
- Communicate with suppliers via phone, email, WhatsApp, and online meetings.
- Request quotations, compare offers, and negotiate commercial terms.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with international suppliers.
- Evaluate alternative brands and equivalent products.
- Prepare sourcing reports and commercial recommendations for management.
- Transfer approved sourcing projects to the Purchasing Operations team for execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in purchasing, sourcing, international trade, business development, or sales is an advantage.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Comfortable making frequent outbound calls and initiating new business relationships.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with ERP systems is considered an advantage.
- Medical device or healthcare industry experience is preferred but not mandatory.
