Gamyte is a technology platform that provides fully priced bids to sub-contractors in the commercial construction space in the USA. We currently have offices in New York City and Ankara. By combining high quality estimation staff with the latest automation and machine learning technology, we aim to revolutionize construction project analysis and bidding.

We are building out a team of estimators to analyze a large volume of architectural plans to support our global growth path. These plans must be analyzed with a tight-turnaround time and high accuracy. We wish to hire an experienced Director of Operations to run this team.

The role will be based in Cankaya, Ankara.

Responsibilities:

·      Establish a consistent high-quality estimation process across the team

·      Grow our team of estimators from 10 to 25 in 2019, with similar growth expected in 2020

·      Put in place effective structures to hire, train and manage a team of this scale

·      Retain and motivate the best performers

·      Re-mediate or remove weaker performers

·      Continuously look for process efficiencies to improve team through-put

·      Define opportunities where technology can improve the productivity of the team

·      Create the best work environment for our team - ensure that nothing impedes our team's ability to do what they need to do including the right office space, tools, equipment and support.

·      Provide high levels of transparency on the performance of the Estimation function to the rest of the management team

·      Ensure that we have the best estimation team in the world

 

Requirements:

·      A track record of building and running large teams of skilled analysis staff

·      Ability to lead from the front, setting strategy and finding practical ways to execute

·      Discipline to run a mission-critical operational team

·      Strong prioritization and time management skills

·      Excellent communication skills in both Turkish and English

·      Ability to set targets and hold team accountable for delivering

·      10-15 years of commercial experience with at least 5 years’ experience of managing large teams

 

Experience in the construction estimation sector would be preferred but we are open to considering talented management candidates with a proven track record in other domains.
