As part of our growing organization, we are looking for aTooling & Fixture Quality Engineer to be assigned to our customer operating in the aerospace industry. The position will primarily be based at supplier facilities located inBursa, Kocaeli, and the Marmara Region.
The successful candidate will be responsible for verifying that tooling, assembly fixtures, molds, and special manufacturing equipment produced by suppliers comply with engineering requirements, customer specifications, and applicable aerospace standards. The role involves performing inspection, validation, acceptance, and supplier quality assurance activities while acting as the technical interface between the customer, suppliers, and project teams.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform technical conformity inspections of tooling, assembly fixtures, molds, and special manufacturing equipment produced by suppliers.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage tooling and fixture commissioning, acceptance, and approval activities.
- Conduct supplier quality audits and on-site inspections to verify compliance with engineering, manufacturing, and quality requirements.
- Review, analyze, and technically evaluate measurement reports generated by CMM and other 3D metrology systems.
- Perform dimensional verification based on engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical specifications.
- Evaluate tooling and fixture compliance according to GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) requirements.
- Investigate non-conformities, perform technical assessments and root cause analysis, and monitor corrective and preventive actions through completion.
- Coordinate technical communication and information flow between customers, suppliers, and project teams.
- Prepare technical acceptance reports and maintain documentation related to tooling and fixture approval processes.
- Support or lead First Article Inspection (FAI) activities when required.
- Travel regularly to supplier sites, primarily within Bursa, Kocaeli, and the Marmara Region, with occasional assignments in other regions of Türkiye, including the Aegean, Central Anatolia, and Southeastern Anatolia.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing industry.
- Proven experience in the inspection, validation, and acceptance of assembly fixtures, production tooling, molds, and special manufacturing equipment.
- Experience in supplier quality management and supplier on-site audits.
- Knowledge of CMM and other three-dimensional measurement technologies, including interpretation of measurement reports.
- Advanced ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with aerospace quality systems and customer quality requirements.
- Experience with AS9100 / EN9100 Quality Management Systems is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar CAD software for technical review is preferred.
- Experience with Zeiss Calypso, PC-DMIS, or equivalent metrology software is preferred.
- Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC, and 8D problem-solving methodologies is an advantage.
- Experience in Assembly Tooling projects within the aerospace industry is preferred.
- Good command of both written and spoken English.
- No travel restrictions.
