The Opportunity

A unique opportunity has arisen for a Business Intelligence Manager to play a lead role in building a new C2B2B online used car marketplace (VavaCars) that leverages our extensive network of petrol stations and worldwide respected brand of our parent company, Vitol.

As a technology first start-up we Dive Deep across all our customer and business KPIs. We believe in detail and thus, use our data to optimize our processes, drive action and deliver results.

Role Mission

Enthusiastic and energised about data, you will extract powerful insights from internal and external datasets, identifying and creating opportunities or new capabilities that deliver growth, drive decisions, and help resource optimization / cost reduction. You will work with Tech and Operations teams to own and create analysis presented through reports and dashboards using our data reporting tool (PowerBI) utilizing data from our data warehouse fed through Google Analytics, CRM (MS Dynamics), and production database.

You will maintain good relationships with stakeholders from around the business, and seek out new ideas, keeping up to date with business intelligence advancements in the marketplace.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Identify management's intelligence needs - includes gathering & analyzing business needs, developing strategy & plans and creating analysis to support desired outcomes.
• Collaboration across business functions – build and maintain close working relationships with Functional teams (Sales, Operations, Marketing, Finance) and Senior Leadership to develop a thorough understanding of our business and build and evolve the Tech & Tools (BI, CRM, GA) road map.
• Market insights - create and deliver commercially astute market insights to help drive business decisions on strategic and operational levels.
• Internal and external communication - assist the BI Manager in developing presentation materials for internal and external audiences including for the purpose of business updates, board updates and stakeholder management.
• Research - research regulatory and business environments including macro/commercial trends.
• Reports and dashboards - implement business performance visualizations and dashboards which will report on daily, weekly, monthly activities across the business, identify KPIs, monitor and measure progress.
• Create a facts-first culture - you will help us establish a culture of data driven decision making where objectivity trumps subjectivity and where opinion is not allowed to masquerade as facts or the only truth

Requirements

• Bacherlor’s degree in computer science, MIS, mathematics, statistics, finance, economics, or related discipline.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in design and development of dashboard, reports, data model using Power BI.
• Extensive experience in BI front-end development and reporting tools – Power BI, MS Dynamics, GA is a plus.
• Extensive experience of working with products like Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) tabular Cube development, String SSIS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Azure Data Factory
• Very strong SQL skills for querying and creation of views/tables, functions and stored procedures
• Experience in Data Warehouse, ETL processing, Tabular models, DAX and M query
• Consult with end users to gather and clarify data and reporting needs for complex business intelligence solutions.
• Formulate and recommend standards for achieving maximum performance and efficiency of the data ecosystem.
• Proven ability to take initiative, own and complete projects, deliver results in a fast-paced work environment.
• Proven skills to work effectively across internal functional areas in ambiguous situations.
• Complete fluency in English, excellent writing skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with an effective ability to multi-task to ensure deadlines are met.
• Self-managed, responsible, and organized.
