MACHINING ENGINEER

Job Description: Responsible for defining, specifying, and implementing machining processes and equipment, in collaboration with other areas, aiming the optimization and continuous improvement of manufacturing means within rational standards of cost, safety, and quality.

Representative Activities

• Participate and coordinate the development and execution of action plans aiming to optimize the resources and reduce losses related to the process.
• Analyze internal suggestions or proposals related to process and product improvements, assessing their feasibility and providing technical evaluations.
• Participate and coordinate the proposition of investments and resources needed for process capabilities, aiming to align capacity with demand forecasts and the annual budget.
• Monitor process indicators and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities, focusing on productivity gains, quality, and reducing material consumption.
• Seek standardization of tooling and processes across the company's units and branches, looking for the best practices within the company.
• Answer inquiries regarding the modifications and launches of new products and lines from the Sales Department and/or Product Engineering.
• Monitor the implementation of new products in the production process (pilot batches), evaluating timelines and tracking the results achieved.
• Participate and perform technical feasibility analysis of new machines, tools, devices and materials.
• Monitor the capability indices of critical manufacturing processes to maintain performance and quality and propose actions to improve it.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering.
• Desired experience in cast iron machining process.
• Availability to travel.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills, good interpersonal skills, initiative, problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, persuasion and organization, with a focus on results.
