Service and After Sales Engineering Specialist

Role Purpose:
The Service and After Sales Engineering Specialist is responsible for technical ownership of products after delivery, ensuring fast, competent, and commercially aware resolution of field issues related to gears, gearboxes, geared motors and heavy-duty industrial gear systems.
This role acts as a technical hub between customers, sales, product engineering, manufacturing, quality and suppliers.
Core responsibilities
· Technical Service & Troubleshooting: Analyze and resolve field failures related to:
o Gears, gearboxes, geared motors and heavy duty industrial gears
o Tooth failures, noise and vibration
o Bearing failures, lubrication issues and thermal overload
o Assembly, tolerance and manufacturing related issues
· Electrical/Mechanical Interface: Diagnose issues related to electric motors driving gearboxes, including
o Torque mismatches
o Overheating and thermal behavior
o Winding related failures (conceptual understanding)
o Speed, load, and duty cycle misapplication
· Warranty and claims management: Evaluate warranty and after sales claims technically and objectively
· Support root cause analysis and define corrective actions in cooperation with quality, product engineering and manufacturing
· Customer interface relationship management: Act as technical face of the company in critical situations
· Communicate clearly and professionally with customers and internal stakeholders
Skills - Mandatory
Technical skills:
· Strong background in mechanical engineering
· Proven experience with:
o Gears, gearboxes and geared motors
o Industrial heavy-duty gear applications
· Solid understanding of:
o Gears and gear/gearbox manufacturing
o Bearings, lubrication and tolerances
o Thermal behavior and load cases
· Practical troubleshooting experience
· Basic to intermediate understanding of:
o Electric motor fundamentals
o Torque, speed and duty cycles
o Common motor failure modes

Language
· Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Skills – Not mandatory, but considered a plus
· Previous experience in service, after-sales, or warranty roles
· Field service or commissioning experience
· Experience in customer-facing technical roles in an industrial environment
