What are my responsibilities?

As a signalling application Design Engineer you will be supporting the project objectives through Managing the IXL (Interlocking) Applications and Technical Drawings that support the successful completion of the project(s)

Your responsibilities include:

• Define, produce and validate all the application data and parameters needed to customize the customer solution, either at System level or at Subsystem level (e.g. IXL, ATC, ICC, N&T, PACIS, …)

• For IXL (Interlocking), produce Control Tables / Route Tables

• Deliver design scheme plan layouts, Control Tables, safe HMI layouts, signaling logic application data, hardware design drawings, cable plans, signaling equipment rooms layout.

• Ensure the application and adherence to the reference application design methods & tools, requesting in cooperation with the Project IXL design leader deviations whenever appropriate

• Take Ownership of the assigned tasks.

• Participate actively to the IXL detailed design review meetings and provide activity progress reports

• Organize and produce documental, software and hardware design deliveries accordingly to the project templates and needs

• Support actively the Project IXL design leader and Project V&V manager in design issues debugging

• Analyze and manage design change requests and participate actively to the definition of the HW & SW package to be delivered to the V&V, installation and Testing & Commissioning teams

• Ensure independence of the design activity from the verification activity

• Support in the Bill of Materials (BOM) preparation, including equipment codification request (CLAMP) and quantities.  

• Manage all documents from the customer project to carry out application engineering studies during all project life

What do I need to qualify for this job?

In this role, you are expected to build effective working relationships across a diverse project team, with the ultimate goal of establishing a frank and transparent dialogue with your peers.

Minimum Qualifications  

• 1-3 years’ experience with High level of quality and details orientation, Knowledge of the railway signalling will be an advantage

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical or Electronic or Automation or Railway Systems Engineering)

• Problem Solver

• Good co-ordination and communication

• Use Technical and Industry Experience

• Manage Conflicts of Ideas

• Act as a Team Player

• Should have prior experience in drawing tools such as ACAD

• Should have experience in Microsoft office package

• Fluent in English reading, writing and speaking
