About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, analytical, and commercially driven Finance Manager to join our growing shipowning company. In this role, you will oversee all financial operations, accounting, treasury, financial reporting, budgeting, and corporate financing activities while supporting the company's strategic growth initiatives.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing relationships with banks, financial institutions, auditors, and other external stakeholders. We are specifically seeking a finance professional with strong experience in commodity trading finance and corporate bank loan acquisition, capable of leading financing transactions and supporting the company's funding requirements in an international shipping environment.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting: Oversee all accounting operations and ensure the timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and applicable statutory requirements.
Budgeting & Financial Planning: Lead the budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and cash flow management processes while providing financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Treasury & Liquidity Management: Manage the company's treasury activities, optimize liquidity, monitor cash positions, oversee payment processes, and ensure efficient working capital management.
Corporate Financing & Bank Loan Acquisition: Lead financing activities including corporate loan acquisition, refinancing, lender negotiations, preparation of financing documentation, covenant monitoring, and ongoing reporting to banks and financial institutions.
Commodity Trade Finance: Support and manage commodity trading finance activities, including letters of credit, documentary collections, bank guarantees, trade finance facilities, and financing structures related to commodity transactions.
Banking & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, auditors, insurance providers, and other financial counterparties.
Shipping Finance: Monitor vessel-related operating expenses, capital expenditures, financing arrangements, and investment performance while supporting fleet expansion and vessel acquisition projects.
Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, internal controls, and corporate governance policies while continuously improving financial processes.
Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team while fostering a collaborative, high-performance working environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Experience in the maritime or shipping industry is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualifications such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, CFA, or equivalent are considered anadvantage.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, treasury, or corporate finance, including at least3 years in a managerial position.
- Proven experience in commodity trading finance, commodity trading operations, or trade finance is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in corporate bank loan acquisition, debt financing, lender negotiations, refinancing, and maintaining relationships with financial institutions is essential.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, financial reporting, treasury management, and corporate finance.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced financial reporting tools is preferred.
