Mechanical Engineer - Building Design

Cordoba is looking for a motivated and technically capableMechanical Engineer to join our design team in Istanbul.

The successful candidate will be involved in the design and development ofbuilding mechanical systems for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and other building projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical building services systems from concept through detailed and IFC design.
• Prepare and review HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire-fighting and other mechanical systems in accordance with applicable standards and project requirements.
• Develop mechanical layouts, schematics, calculations, equipment schedules and technical documentation.
• Coordinate mechanical systems with architecture, structural, electrical and other disciplines.
• Work within a BIM/Revit-based design environment and coordinate models with other disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews and resolve technical and coordination issues.
• Assist with preparation of specifications, BOQs and tender documentation.
• Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers and external consultants as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in building mechanical design.
• Good knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Experience with Revit MEP is required/preferred.
• Good knowledge of AutoCAD.
• Ability to read and understand architectural and structural drawings.
• Familiarity with international building standards and codes.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Ability to work independently as well as as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with international projects, particularly Middle East projects, is an advantage.
• Experience with healthcare, hospitality, commercial or large-scale residential projects is an advantage.
• Knowledge of BIM coordination and clash detection.
• Experience preparing calculations, equipment schedules, specifications and BOQs.
