Senior Production and Planning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior Production Planning Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing company operating in the automotive supplier industry.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing production plans in line with customer demand, material availability and production capacity, while supporting on-time delivery, efficient resource utilization and inventory optimization.

Key Responsbilities

• Develop and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production plans in line with customer requirements and delivery schedules.
• Translate customer demand and forecasts into feasible production schedules, considering capacity, material availability, workforce and equipment constraints.
• Monitor production progress against planned targets, identify deviations and coordinate corrective actions with relevant departments.
• Perform capacity planning and load analysis to identify bottlenecks and balance production requirements across manufacturing processes.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchasing, Logistics, Quality and Maintenance to ensure timely execution of production plans.
• Monitor material requirements through MRP and follow up on shortages that may affect production continuity.
• Manage planning parameters, lead times, lot sizes and safety stock levels within the ERP system.
• Monitor raw material, work-in-progress and finished goods inventory levels to support delivery performance and inventory targets.
• Adjust production schedules in response to changes in customer demand, material shortages, equipment downtime and other operational constraints.
• Monitor planning KPIs, including schedule adherence, on-time delivery, backlog and inventory turnover, and initiate improvement actions.
• Support new product launches by coordinating planning requirements, material readiness and capacity availability.
• Ensure the accuracy of planning-related master data, including bills of materials, routings and production lead times, in coordination with relevant departments.
• Analyze demand fluctuations and production constraints to identify delivery risks and propose recovery plans.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, reduce lead times and improve production flow.
• Prepare planning reports and provide clear visibility of capacity constraints, delivery risks and operational priorities.
• Provide technical guidance to planning team members and support the development of planning practices and processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant quality standards, management systems and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in production planning within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive or automotive supplier industry.
• Strong knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, material requirements planning and inventory management.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems and MRP processes.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes, production flows, lead times and operational constraints.
• Experience in managing customer demand, forecasts and delivery schedules.
• Ability to analyze capacity requirements, identify bottlenecks and develop feasible production plans.
• Experience in monitoring and improving planning KPIs, including schedule adherence, on-time delivery and inventory performance.
• Good knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Familiarity with IATF 16949 requirements relevant to production planning is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to coordinate across multiple departments.
• Proactive, detail-oriented and capable of managing changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Good command of MS Office applications, particularly Excel.
• Good command of English is preferred.
