Accounting Supervisor

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Supervisor to oversee daily accounting operations, financial reporting, tax compliance, and month-end closing in a dynamic retail environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• 5–8 years of experience in Accounting and Finance.

• Strong knowledge of inventory accounting and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) is a must.

• Retail industry experience is an asset.

• Experience with Nebim V3 is an asset.

• Solid knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.

• Knowledge of import and export accounting is an asset.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Big Four tax or audit experience is a plus.

• SMMM certification is an asset.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and monthly financial reports under local GAAP and IFRS.

• Perform month-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and account reconciliations.

• Maintain general ledger accuracy and reconcile AP, fixed assets, and inventory accounts.

• Prepare fixed asset depreciation and amortization schedules.

• Monitor inventory accounting and COGS processes to ensure accurate financial records.

• Record and reconcile store income and expenses and ensure timely month-end store closings.

• Prepare statutory reports and support tax filings, including VAT, withholding tax, and provisional tax.

• Follow up on VAT refund processes and related documentation.

• Coordinate external audit requests and liaise with external auditors and financial advisers.

• Prepare ad hoc financial reports and provide accounting support to other departments.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal procedures.

• Identify opportunities to improve and automate accounting and reporting processes.
