What is a Product Development Specialist – Central Asia?
A Product Development Specialist is responsible for ensuring that our vegetable seed varieties are properly trialed, evaluated, positioned and prepared for the market across Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan as priority and for other Central Asian countries.
This role is not limited to following field trials. It includes building strong relationships with growers, distributors and local stakeholders; understanding market needs; analyzing competitor varieties; and turning field observations into actionable product and market insights.
The role is mainly focused on product development but also requires a strong market mindset and the ability to identify new contacts, customers and commercial opportunities.
What you do
Plan, organize and follow up product trials in Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
Visit trial locations regularly and evaluate variety performance under local conditions.
Build strong relationships with distributors, growers, dealers, nurseries and local stakeholders.
Take an active role in the first 1–2 years of new variety development and market introduction.
Report trial results, photos, grower feedback and competitor comparisons using internal digital systems.
Analyze variety strengths and weaknesses and define where, how and for which customer segments they should be positioned.
Monitor market needs, grower expectations, competitor varieties and commercial opportunities.
Provide technical product information, positioning support and field feedback to distributors and growers.
Identify new customers, growers and business development opportunities.
Are you a good fit?
5+ years of experience in vegetable seeds, agriculture, horticulture, agronomy, product development, technical sales or field trials.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Agronomy, Plant Science, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field.
Strong field orientation and interest in working directly with growers and distributors.
Ability to turn trial observations into clear product recommendations and market insights.
Strong relationship-building skills across different cultures and stakeholder groups.
Technical knowledge combined with commercial thinking.
Independent planning, initiative and disciplined follow-up.
No travel restrictions and willingness to travel regularly, around 40%+, across the region.
English B2; preferably Russian B1+ and/or Turkish B1+.
Openness to using digital tools, AI and internal reporting systems.
