THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a senior executive to join us as General Manager Designate, providing strategic and operational leadership at OZ Optics in Türkiye.

This is a designate appointment: you will join alongside the incumbent leadership for a structured transition period before assuming full General Manager responsibility for OZ Optics Türkiye operations, an arrangement designed to give you a genuine understanding of the business before the handover is complete.

The role calls for real management depth, the confidence to lead experienced teams, and the ability to run an internationally connected business without losing sight of the detail.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Leadership & Organisation

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across OZ Optics Türkiye operations
• Manage, mentor and develop the management team
• Shape organisational design, succession planning and talent development in partnership with local and Group Human Resources
• Lead performance management and set the tone for company culture
• Embed management best practices consistently in the company

Commercial & P&L Ownership

• Hold full P&L responsibility for OZ Optics Türkiye
• Oversee sales, business development and key account relationships across domestic and export markets
• Set pricing and margin policy in coordination with headquarters
• Work closely with senior leadership to translate corporate objectives into executable plans

Operations & Manufacturing

• Direct production planning, capacity utilisation and on-time delivery performance
• Take ownership of quality and management systems (ISO 9001 and related certifications) and their continuous improvement
• Oversee procurement and supply chain, including the import of materials and equipment
• Partner with department heads to strengthen both operational and financial performance
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce cost, and see them through to delivery

• Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
• Support strategic planning with robust financial models and scenario analysis
• Drive data-driven management through ERP systems and consistent KPI reporting

• Ensure full compliance with Turkish labour law, occupational health and safety legislation, and free zone and customs regulations
• Maintain internal controls and manage relationships with auditors, banks and regulatory authorities

• Represent the Türkiye operation to OZ Optics headquarters in Canada, including regular performance reporting to the President
• Act as OZ Optics' senior representative in Türkiye with customers, institutions and local authorities

WHAT YOU WILL BRING

Essential

• University degree in engineering, business administration or a related discipline
• 15 years or more of professional experience, with a strong management background
• Experience gained in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Proven people management and leadership skills
• Solid, hands-on experience with ERP systems and data-driven management
• Master-level command of Excel, supported by strong quantitative and analytical skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Sound knowledge of the regulatory environment governing industrial and export operations in Türkiye
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills in a corporate, cross-cultural environment
• Native-level Turkish alongside a good command of English, written and spoken
• Resident in İzmir, or willing to relocate to İzmir

• Working knowledge of Free Trade Zone regulations
• Track record of reporting into an international parent company or matrix structure

• Methodical, quantitative and genuinely detail-focused
• Self-motivated and effective with little supervision in a dynamic environment
• Able to prioritise and multi-task, and to deliver against tight deadlines
• Integrity, business acumen and real commercial curiosity
• Willing to travel internationally as the role requires
