Operating under Açık Holding, Serban İnşaat provides turnkey services in the construction industry, mainly in Data Center projects and critical facilities. Additionally, Serban is responsible for EPC projects as a technology integrator technological buildings, factories, cyber technology and security buildings, also hotel, shopping mall, and residential projects.
We are seeking a OHS Chief to be based in Ümraniye (Dudullu), İstanbul for a Data Center Project, meeting the qualifications listed below:
General Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Occupational Health and Safety,
- Class A or Class B Occupational Health and Safety Certificate,
- Minimum 10 years of Occupational Health and Safety experience, including at least 7 years in construction site environments,
- Experience in large-scale, high-spec projects (data centers, industrial plants, pharmaceutical facilities, or similar),
- Strong knowledge of local OHS regulations and international standards,
- Hands-on experience with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems,
- Experience in subcontractor OHS management and site inspections/audits,
- Strong knowledge of risk assessment and incident investigation processes,
- Experience in OHS reporting, documentation, and record keeping,
- Strong communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset,
- Proficiency in MS Office applications,
- Fluent in English (written and spoken),
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel when required.
- Residing in Istanbul (preferably Asian side).
Job Description
- Lead and manage all Occupational Health and Safety activities on site,
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, international standards, and client requirements,
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits, and report findings to management,
- Manage subcontractor OHS compliance and alignment with project standards,
- Prepare and review risk assessments, method statements, and OHS plans,
- Monitor and report OHS performance (KPIs, incidents, corrective actions),
- Lead incident investigations and ensure implementation of preventive actions,
- Manage OHS documentation, records, and reporting systems,
- Deliver and support OHS training and toolbox talks,
- Track OHS-related costs and support monthly reporting,
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance and culture on site,
- Coordinate with project teams to ensure safe execution of construction activities,
- Ensure compliance with client-specific standards (e.g., FM Global, LEED where applicable).
