Project Engineer

We are looking for a proactive, accountable and solution-oriented Project Engineer to support the planning, technical follow-up and site coordination of industrial plant projects at ASOS Proses.

Working directly with the Project Manager, you will contribute to tender preparation, engineering, technical procurement, fabrication, installation and commissioning, with a particular focus on fertilizer, acid and chemical process plants.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager throughout tendering, proposal preparation, engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, and commissioning.
• Review tender documents and specifications to identify project scope, technical requirements and delivery conditions.
• Coordinate the preparation of technical tender submissions, quantity take-offs, material and equipment lists, cost estimates, and project schedules; track submission requirements and deadlines.
• Monitor project scope, schedules, material requirements, and engineering deliverables; identify potential delays early and propose corrective actions.
• Support coordination between process, mechanical, piping, civil and other engineering disciplines.
• Review technical drawings, specifications, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and equipment datasheets; maintain document and revision records.
• Assist with technical procurement, including requests for quotation, bid comparisons and technical clarifications with suppliers.
• Track equipment and material fabrication, inspection, and delivery against project schedules.
• Coordinate technical communication and follow-up with clients, engineering partners, suppliers, fabrication teams, and site teams.
• Participate in meetings with local and international stakeholders; prepare meeting minutes and action lists and follow up on agreed actions.
• Prepare regular progress reports and support project cost and resource tracking.
• Support site installation, quality inspections and commissioning activities in accordance with quality and health and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Preferably 2–5 years of experience in process systems, industrial plants, EPC projects.
• Ability to read technical drawings and work with engineering documentation.
• Good command of English, sufficient to review technical documents, handle correspondence and participate in meetings. (Mandatory)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related tools.
• Strong planning, reporting, problem-solving and multitasking skills.
• A proactive approach: able to anticipate needs and potential issues, take initiative within assigned responsibilities and propose practical solutions.
• Strong ownership, attention to detail and commitment to following tasks through to completion.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work across engineering disciplines.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally and participate in site activities as required.

Preferred Experience

• Tender preparation, specification review, quantity take-offs, cost estimation, or technical proposal preparation.
• Experience with fertilizer, sulfuric acid, nitric acid or other chemical process plants.
• Familiarity with process equipment such as pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, and reactors.
• Working knowledge of MS Project, AutoCAD or similar planning and design tools.
• Experience in fabrication follow-up, site installation, quality control, or commissioning.
