Powertrain Design Engineer

BASE STUDIO ARGE VE TEKNOLOJİ A.Ş.

We are looking for a Teammate with the following qualifications who will take an active role in the design and development of the powertrain systems for the national and international diesel, hybrid and electric chassis platforms that BASE Studio is currently working on.

QUALIFIATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering
• Experience in the design of complex automotive components and systems using CAD software (Creo experience is an advantage) and familiarity with PLM systems.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle; design - analysis - validation - development - release
• Ability to create technical drawings and knowledge of GD&T
• Knowledge and experience of powertrain development (engine mounting, cooling, exhaust, air intake, fuel and HVAC systems)
• Familiarity with CAE through definition of boundary conditions and evaluation of results.
• Knowledge and experience of 1-D simulation tools (Matlab, Fluidsim, KULI) is an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience of structural and fluid flow analysis tools (ANSYS Mechanical and ANSYS Fluent or similar) is an advantage.
• Similar background in defence industry or heavy commercial vehicles is a plus
• Project management skills, ability to deliver assigned tasks to schedule, weight and cost targets
• Strong reporting skills
• Fluency in English is a must

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design of powerpack mountings, cooling, exhaust, air intake, fuel and HVAC systems; performing the engineering calculations, defining the correct system components
• Defining the boundary conditions, performing the analysis and evaluating the results; updating the designs accordingly
• Communication with the suppliers and internal organization
• Creating basic technical drawings in component and system level and publishing in PLM system
• Organize and participate into validation tests
• Managing the components and sub-systems in PLM
